The Moscow Stock Exchange continues to break records despite sanctions on its most important companies, including banking giant Sberbank and the world’s largest natural gas exporter, Gazprom. But despite pretty lousy sentiment on all things Russia-related, the Moscow Russia Index is up over 100% in rubles in the last five years. It’s now at a record high. consider Trump possibly starting a trade war with Europe, then Europe may be the first to lift its sanctions on Russia in retaliation,” Gaffney says, thinking out loud on the possibilities for Russian securities should investor sentiment improve. The MOEX Russia reached a...

2018 was a terrible year for commodities, but few sectors fared as badly as lithium. The crucial battery metal, also known as “White petroleum”, struggled through a 50 percent price correction as supply soared and demand fears spread like wildfire. But it isn’t time to give up on lithium stocks just yet. The rising stars of the hard-rock lithium space are transforming the industry with their remarkable ability to extract lithium at a lower cost and faster pace than the lithium majors can from their brine deposits. In short, there’s a new caliber of producer in town and - with...

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from David Hogg. I sort of figured his 15 minutes were over. Well, he’s decided to extend his moment in the spotlight… by MINDLESSLY SMEARING American troops. Yeah. I almost forgot how insufferable he was, too. See – this dolt thinks these dots represent “US military imperialism” in Africa. snip BINGO. He literally just needed to read the article he tweeted out. That was clearly WAY too difficult for this Harvard student. Here’s what the article has to say: The code-named operations cover a variety of different military missions, ranging from psychological operations...

Dogs Branded ‘White Supremacist’ as Social Justice Warriors Seemingly Run Out of People to Call Racist by Cassandra Fairbanks April 21, 2019 Total: 3.1K2.9KShare197TweetEmail Social Justice Warriors have apparently run out of people and objects to declare as racist and are now setting taking aim at man’s best friend. Ben Faulding, a socialist with bylines in the Washington Post, Tablet Mag, and The Forward has declared that dogs are a “tool of white supremacy and gentrification.” “That’s not just my opinion. There is research that shows how white newcomers dogwalking routes stake out territory. And white owners user their pets...

The Trump name could soon find itself gracing a new planned community in a hotly contested location — the Golan Heights. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced via video Tuesday that he intends to introduce a resolution to have a new Jewish community named after President Donald Trump in gratitude for his decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the area. “I’m here on the beautiful Golan Heights,” Netanyahu said, arm around his wife. “All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. Therefore after the Passover holiday I intend...

When Julian Assange was hauled out of the Ecuadoran embassy, he was carrying a copy of Gore Vidal’s History of the National Security State, which is smart advertising both for the book and for Assange’s worldview. It’s enough to make one wonder what book one would like to carry if and when one is arrested. A few years before the 2006 launch of WikiLeaks, an activist hacker even stranger than Assange ran afoul of the U.S. government, in the paranoid environment just after 9/11. England’s Gary McKinnon hacked into NASA computers and took a look around, hoping to find evidence...

I like taking old classics and streamlining them and applying modern spelling and proofreading standards to them. One can see them in a new, fresh light that way. In the past, on Free Republic, I’ve done it with the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and George Washington’s Rules of Civility. Now, I’ve done it with Rudyard Kipling’s “The White Man’s Burden” as well as several responses to it. As I did with the above three, I’ve taken their original poetry structure and reassembled it into normal sentences. “The White Man’s Burden” takes up only five sentences, but it...

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Impeachment? What, me worry? – On Tuesday, investors showed how positive they are about all the strong company earnings reports that have been rolling in over the past two weeks, and also how unconcerned they are about the current bluster from Democrats about impeaching President Trump. Both the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 indexes closed at all-time record highs Tuesday, now having regained all the ground they had lost during the 20% selloff that took place last November and December. The U.S. stock market generally serves as a pretty accurate...
  • Ford wants the trademark for Scout and Bronco Scout, report says

Ford has been whipping truck and SUV enthusiasts into a froth with the news of a revived Bronco SUV, but it would seem that Bronco isn't the only famous nameplate that's getting a second lease on life. According to a report Saturday by FordAuthority.com, the Blue Oval has applied for trademarks on both the Scout and Bronco Scout names, and we're betting that the Scout badge could find a home on the long-rumored "baby Bronco." Now, applying for trademarks on vehicle names isn't necessarily a sure sign that they'll get used. Automakers squirrel away weird names for potential vehicles all...

How far has the United States gone down the road of punishing people for uttering politically incorrect thoughts? Very far indeed, as an incident at the University of Louisville shows. Yes, we know that faculty in the “soft” fields of the social sciences endanger their careers if they happen to say something that upsets someone of “progressive” sensibilities, but the Louisville case involves a (formerly) esteemed medical school professor. Evidently, no one is safe from the PC enforcers. Dr. Allan Josephson has been in medical practice since 1976, specializing in childhood psychology. In 2003, has was chosen to be the...

There are many great 9mm pistols of the past and present out on the market. But, which ones are really accurate right out of the box without any customization. As most of you all know the "Indian" is always the variable factor that has to do with accuracy and not the "arrow". From the groups that have shot these 9mm pistols are the Joe average with maybe some military or law enforcement background. None of these shooters are newbies or of elite status like a Rob Leatham. Rob can pick up just about any pistol and be accurate with it....

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) This is becoming a habit. – Barely a week after straying off the social justice warrior reservation with an errant tweet, our favorite leftist has-been entertainer from the 1960s, Cher, got herself into a bit of a pickle on Twitter once again on Tuesday. After someone in her entourage apparently forgot to lock up the LSD pantry, Cher went on the attack, but her target wasn’t President Donald Trump – instead, she went after The Commie and his desire to give the Boston Bombers and other terrorists and felons their voting rights...

It’s not every day that something truly shocking happens in baseball. There are thousands of games each year, each pitch photographed and videotaped and tracked on radar to the millimeter and microsecond, so there is really very little new under the sun. But what’s happened to the Yankees over the first three weeks of the season is truly shocking. This past weekend, right fielder Aaron Judge went on the IL with a strained oblique muscle—and I know this isn’t the point, but when a guy as big as Judge pulls a muscle, it has to register on the Richter scale—which...
