    10/18/03 | summer's emails with Gov Bush
Note to FR: I am posting here an email conversation I had today with Gov Bush about Terri, and yes, he knows I am posting it here on FR. In my reply #1, located below this post of Gov Bush’s email, I have posted a message from me to Terri’s husband. And, no, I did not discuss with anyone my idea here to write to Terri’s husband. No one suggested it to me. Nor did I discuss it with anyone at all. In my next reply, reply #2 below, I hope to post a message to my friends here on...
  • Freepers In Support Of The Supreme Court

I think there are many Freepers who are tired of this constant bashing of the Supreme Court for Lawrence v. Texas. I think they did a great job and stuck a knife in the heart of big government. Individual liberty is at the heart of what conservatism is all about - the individual having primacy over the state. It disturbs me that there are so many who wanted to see the state prevail in its desire to regulate private, individual freedoms. I say, good job, to a consistent, conservative SC! You did exactly what you're supposed to be doing.

Iraq blames sanctions for suffering 12/05/2002 Associated Press BAGHDAD, Iraq - Baghdad said Wednesday that Iraqis are suffering not from torture and other human-rights abuses at the hands of their own government, but from the effects of sanctions that it blames on Britain and the United States. The comments were Iraq's first reaction to a 23-page report presented Monday by British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, saying that the Iraqi people live in fear and that Saddam Hussein's regime was in breach of its international obligations. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has issued another "of his statements that are full...

Iraq says inspectors are spies U.N. team says it's getting results, balancing demands 12/05/2002 Associated Press BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq protested sharply Wednesday over U.N. weapons inspectors' surprise intrusion into one of Saddam Hussein's presidential palaces, accusing the arms experts of being spies who staged the search as a provocation that could lead to war. The harshest criticism came from Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan, who charged - in language reminiscent of clashes with inspectors in the 1990s - that the new teams of U.N. monitors were gathering intelligence for Washington and Israel. "Their work is to spy to...

Iraq’s environment has been seriously affected by the U.S-led aggression. Thousands of people, mostly children and elderly, died as a result of the aggression and sanctions. Mortality rate is mounting with every passing day. The U.S-led aggression against Iraq in 1991 caused tremendous harm to environment and infrastructure. Thousand tons of laser-guided bombs, fragmentation bombs, cruise missiles, depleted uranium-tipped weapons with a total explosive power equal to six or seven Hiroshima-nuclear blasts were used against Iraq targeting transport lines, communications, electrical grids, water purification units, sewage lines and oil refineries. The aggressors tested depleted uranium (DU) weapons, which are internationally...
