Naked Philadelphia bikers need only bring their masks. Participants in the annual Philly Naked Bike Ride can ditch their clothes to ride as long as they follow the Aug. 28 event’s mask guidance, which was put in place before the city this week lifted most of its coronavirus restrictions. Organizers said they haven’t met since the city updated its guidance, so for now, they’re “going to stick with our initial mask guidance.” The 10-mile ride, which was canceled last year due to the pandemic, has been promoted this year as the “mask edition.”

Gwen Inglis, a national cycling champion, was training on familiar roads when a driver hit and killed her after drifting into the bike lane, Lakewood (Colo.) Police said. Inglis was riding with her husband, Mike, in the Denver suburb around 10 a.m. on Sunday when the Nissan sedan driven by Ryan Montoya, 29, veered into the lane. He remained at the scene. Inglis, 47, was taken to the hospital, where she died of her injuries. I don't know how many of you are into biking, but those of us who are, I thought I would show a neat product for the casual bicyclist. It's an electrical conversion for nearly any standard bicycle. It gives enough power to equate to leg power for about an hour. It's meant for those who wouldn't mind biking for up to an hour in one direction before needing to recharge it. I just think it's a neat niche product.

A group of cyclists were riding and had a Subaru hatchback "safety car" assigned to trail them when they were hit about 9:30 a.m. on southbound U.S. Highway 95 near Mile Marker 36, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka. A man in Chicago allegedly called a 14-year-old a “racist” as he stole his bike, according to CWB Chicago. Isaac Lacy, 22, has been arrested after allegedly stealing a bike from a 14-year-old outside of a Logan Square cycle shop, Boulevard Bikes, on Tuesday. According to CWB Chicago, Lacy approached the 14-year-old and another minor and asked for a cigarette.
