Nearly Half of Voters Have Unfavorable Opinion Raleigh, N.C. - Governor Bev Perdue's favorability with North Carolina voters continues to take a nosedive according to results of a new poll released today by the Civitas Institute. Only 30 percent of North Carolina voters have a favorable opinion of Perdue in July, down six percentage points from Civitas' June poll. Alcoholic Beverage Commission Chairman Doug Fox on Tuesday, just hours after newspapers provided Perdue's office with a copy of a racist photo illustration sent from Fox's e-mail address after last November's election. Raleigh, N.C. — Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory has edged ahead of Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue in the gubernatorial race with less than five weeks until the election, according to a new WRAL News poll. Polling firm Rasmussen Reports surveyed 700 likely voters statewide Tuesday and found that McCrory, the Republican candidate, holds a 50 to 46 percent lead over Perdue, the Democratic candidate.
