A fiend strangled a woman from behind – causing her to black out – in a heinous, apparently unprovoked attack in the East Village last week, cops said. The 25-year-old woman was walking near Houston Street and Avenue D around 4:10 a.m. on Oct. 22 when an unidentified approached and strangled her from behind, police said. Maryland authorities said a judge was the victim of "a targeted attack" when he was gunned down outside his home Thursday night.
