On Friday, April 14, the prosecution added a fourth charge to Bilal Askaryar, the NPR contributor and refugee who was accused of assaulting Secretary of Education Betsy Devos. Based on the criminal information filed on Friday, the four charges are: 1. Assault on a police officer 2. Failure to obey officer 3. Simple Assault 4. Unlawful Assembly - Disorderly Conduct A Metropolitan DC police report indicates that count #3 relates to the assault of a cabinet member, presumably SecEd Betsy DeVos.
