RIVERDALE, Ga. — A transgender city council member lost a re-election bid in a runoff Tuesday after a lawsuit that claimed she tried to fool voters by running as a woman. Michelle Bruce said that even though a judge dismissed the lawsuit the day before the vote, the suit served its intended purpose. CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) -- Joe Edwards, an artist who worked on the 1942 debut issue of Archie comics, has died. He was 85. Edwards also created the character Li'l Jinx. He died on February first at his Long Island home after years of treatment for heart problems, according to his son, Todd Edwards of North Babylon.
