The Seattle-based Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) removed all mention of JK Rowling from their “Harry Potter” exhibit after calling her a “cold, heartless, joy-sucking entity,” according to a blog post that was posted in May. Project manager Chris Moore, who is transgender, authored the piece and claimed that they would “love to go with the internet’s theory that these books were actually written without an author.” “But this certain person is a bit too vocal with her super hateful and divisive views to be ignored,” continued the post. “For the time being, the curators decided to remove any of...

Stacey Abrams has now surpassed Hillary Clinton as the least self-aware person in the world. Just a few weeks ago, she exhibited how tone-deaf she is toward Georgia voters by appearing in Athens during an away game weekend for the Georgia Bulldogs. Abrams continues to embarrass herself. On Friday night, with just over two weeks to go before the midterm elections, she could have spent time trying to make her case for why Georgians should let her ruin the Peach State. But instead, she appeared on stage at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena at the Lizzo concert alongside opening act Latto...

There’s a neat trick the Left has. When you do something stupid and vile, make it so stupid and vile that it makes people uncomfortable to even repeat what you’ve done in order to call you on it. Ted Kennedy is a perfect example. It’s so horrible to leave a woman to drown in a car you drunkenly wrecked while you stagger home to save your political career that even repeating the charge gives everyone an icky feeling. Opposition to born alive infant protection laws is another one. It’s so horrible to oppose a law that would require treatment for...

<p>"Go to the dictionary, & look up the 'C' word, … next 2 the definition … you’ll see a pic of Sarah Palin! No … wait … she’s under dumb C word," the singer tweeted.</p>
<p>Cher was taking heat from right-wing media on Monday after she presumably called Sarah Palin a "dumb c---" and members of the Tea Party "jihadists."</p>

Civil liberties and abortion rights advocates are criticizing a bill introduced by State Rep. Matt Baker (R-Tioga) that increases rules for abortion clinics. They argue that the measure is a thinly veiled attempt at restricting abortions, saying a similar bill in Texas forced 18 of 20 clinics to close. Proponents of the legislation and pro-life activists argue that HB 574 is necessary to close gaps in abortion regulation, brought to light in the now infamous case of abortion provider Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Baker’s would require freestanding abortion clinics to follow the same standards as ambulatory surgical facilities, including increasing the...

"But as I realized back in my Wasilla mayor days, life is too short to hold a grudge." By the time the reader reaches that pronouncement on page 321 of "Going Rogue," Sarah Palin has nursed enough grudges to last a lifetime. She describes the McCain campaign's chief strategist Steve Schmidt's "rotund physique" and his penchant for smoking to "keep his cognitive connections humming along." She claims that her Troopergate nemesis Hollis French earned the nickname "Gunny" after he listed himself as a Marine Corps private when he "merely attended a weeks-long military course during college." Media strategist Nicolle Wallace...

The governor has spent much of her public life in high-pitched feuds—but taking on late night’s prince shows a complete lack of political sophistication. Top 10 lists about Sarah Palin's attack on David Letterman are already being written but really there is only one reason Palin should relent—she’s not a good enough politician to play. Palin has spent much of her public life in feuds with the state legislature, with her ex-brother-in-law, with John McCain’s staff, with Levi Johnston’s family. An early fight with the chairman of Alaska’s Oil & Gas Commission paved the way to the governor’s office. She...

The Return Of The Women's Equality Amendment By Ashley Herzog April 10, 2007 I didn't plan on writing another column about feminism, but I keep discovering more examples of pernicious ideas the so-called "women's rights activists" are pushing on society. Last week, the Democrat-controlled Congress reintroduced the long-dead Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which gained popular support in the 1970s but died when Americans found out what it actually entailed. Thirty years later, feminists in Congress seem to think we've forgotten. The language of the ERA, now renamed the Women's Equality Amendment, is deceptively simple: "equality of rights under the law...

It's time for all of us in the pro-life movement to learn to appreciate the power of political satire. Comedian Chris Rock, slated to host the Oscars this month, is being accused of promoting abortion. "Abortion, it's beautiful, it's beautiful abortion is legal. I love going to an abortion rally to pick up women, cause you know they are f*!@*%g," Rock said during his club routine. Whether Rock is pro-life or pro-choice, whether he intended to use satire or really believes what he said, is beside the point. What's "beautiful" is that Chris Rock has exposed a profound side effect...

Since the events of September 11, 2001, we Americans have spent much time reassuring Muslims that we are sure that the radical among them is a small number. President Bush has repeatedly stated that a small number of fanatics have “hijacked” a peaceful religion. But is Islam a “peaceful” religion? Certainly the vast majority of Muslims would have a problem with actually beheading another human being or slitting a toddler’s throat but there are many Muslims who find nothing wrong with this behavior. They read their Quran and agree that it is all justified. Indeed, if one reads the Quran,...

Zhila Izadyar, a 13-year-old young teenager who was raped and impregnated by her 15-year-old brother, faced the possibility of the medieval death penalty of stoning to death. She was held captive in prison where she had suffered fifty-five lashes. Her physical condition has significantly degraded, and she is desparately crying for the help of Human Rights Watch groups. After suffering fifty-five lashes Zhila and her brother, Bakhtiar, were transferred to a home in Sanandaj where they are recovering. There have been no decisions made in regards to neither their future education nor their security in public. For Zhila who suffers...
