May 9 marks traditionally the celebration of the Schuman Declaration, a visionary short statement given by the French Foreign Minister exactly five years and one day after the end of the Second World War. Since then, the European project has, sometimes enthusiastically and sometimes painfully, followed a course which, in retrospect, is totally unique in the history of mankind – a voluntary devolution of powers from 27 countries to a joint set of institutions, decision-making powers in some respect, and more diluted coordination in many others. Rereading the Declaration 70 years later, amidst the worst crisis in Europe since World...

WASHINGTON - What if the real “invisible enemy” is the enemy from within - America’s very institutions? When the coronavirus pandemic came from distant lands to the United States, it was met with cascading failures and incompetencies by a system that exists to prepare, protect, prevent and cut citizens a check in a national crisis. The molecular menace posed by the new coronavirus has shaken the conceit of “American exceptionalism” like nothing big enough to see with your own eyes. A nation with unmatched power, brazen ambition and aspirations through the arc of history to be humanity’s “shining city upon...

World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump’s decision to halt U.S. funds for the organization for failing to adequately warn about the Chinese coronavirus outbreak. “We regret the decision of the president of the United States to order a halt in funding,” Adhanom said in a Wednesday press briefing, adding that the United Nations-back body will partner with others to fill gaps in funding to “ensure our work continues uninterrupted.”

“On August 19 of last year I listened in stunned silence as Nikole Hannah-Jones, a reporter for the New York Times, repeated an idea that I had vigorously argued against,” reads the first sentence of Friday’s essay by Leslie Harris, a history professor at Northwestern University. Harris is just the latest in a string of academics to levy criticism on Hannah-Jones and the 1619 Project. She is the first, however, who actually took part in the project as a fact-checker. During the publication process for 1619, Harris “vigorously disputed” the idea that the American Revolution was actually about preserving slavery....

Two recent stories that dominated academic Twitter were the cancellation of the Western Art History course at Yale and the incorporation of the 1619 Project in the school curricula in Buffalo, New York and Washington DC. Though political centrists on Twitter were outraged, no one noted that those two incidents are thematically similar. Without understanding the connection, fighting back against indoctrination throughout the education system will be impossible. Consider the situation at Yale. Yale’s administration ended a decades-old course on the Western canon because it is arguably too big a field to cover. The course, “Introduction to Art History: Renaissance...

Mary Grabar's book, 'Debunking Howard Zinn,' takes aim at the celebrated historian who is as influential as he is ideological and dishonest. Howard Zinn’s book, The People’s History of the United States, is one of the most famous American history textbooks ever written. His goal was to change the way Americans saw their own history by writing from the perspective of those he called “underdogs.” In doing so, he thoroughly distorts the true historical record and paints America as an inherently unjust nation.Mary Grabar believes that at the root of his agenda is a desire to see America turned into...

The EU’s new foreign affairs chief, Josep Borrell, will meet with Iranian leaders on Monday, as the EU seeks to salvage the tattered 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. The meeting comes amid a policy split between European signatories to the nuclear deal and the US. The US dropped out of the accord, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and reimposed sanctions on Iran in August 2019. Tehran has responded by rolling back its commitments to the deal’s core elements, which include capping uranium enrichment. On January 6, Iran said that it would no longer adhere to its...

There was a “growing divide between northern and southern Europe” when it comes to trust in democracy and a global increase in dissatisfaction with democracy, according to a report by the University of Cambridge’s Centre for the Future of Democracy. […] Though the study was not directly concerned with identifying causes, it noted that short-term crises, notably “economic shocks, corruption scandals, and policy crises,” had “an immediately observable effect upon average levels of civic dissatisfaction.” It also pointed to the 2008 financial crash and the refugee crisis of 2015 as factors in what the survey called “malaise.” “I do think...

A French publisher has issued an apology after one of its history textbooks suggested that the CIA “orchestrated” the 9/11 terror attacks in the United States, in which nearly 3,000 people were killed. The textbook titled “History of the 20th Century in Flashcards” was published last November through Ellipses publications to present the entire last century in French, European and world history to undergraduate students. The sentence appeared on page 204 of the textbook in a chapter about the creation of the Al Qaeda terrorist group and the attacks on America on September 11, 2001, French daily Le Monde reported....

Here’s an idea that our Democrat politician friends might want to try if they want to stop being back-stabbing garbage people. It’s kind of a radical notion and a little outside the box, but here goes: How about, just once, you stop sucking-up to the foreign bastards who are attacking our country and take America’s side?Maybe you should not back and excuse the gay-hanging, women-stoning, airline-downing, Obama check-cashing, Israel-threatening, American-murdering cultists ruling Iran. Just a thought. It’s kind of crazy, but it just might work. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking what your man-bunned grad student TA taught you, that...

For decades we have said that there is a liberal slant in education, a leftist bias. But the concept of tacit liberal influence is in the distant past. Today, liberalism is at the forefront. Liberalism is the curriculum. Grade schools throughout the country are rewriting their history curriculums based on today's leftist politics. Some Illinois, New York and New Jersey public schools are teaching a collection of New York Times leftist opinion essays known as the 1619 Project as factual objective history. This leftist propaganda project audaciously rewrites our history as a country that was started as a "slavocracy" in...

The Green New Deal is visionary approach to climate politics and American life. If passed, it would completely transform how Americans live from where we call home to how we get our power to the fundamental outline of the economy. It’s no small thing, and frankly, I get why it can be scary to some. The path we’ve walked down since the start of the Industrial Revolution has treated humanity well on some level. And a fossil fueled-economy is modern orthodoxy. Now, it could be the thing that ends up undoing centuries of human progress. While small changes around the...

‘So wrong in so many ways” is how Gordon Wood, the Pulitzer Prize-winning historian of the American Revolution, characterized the New York Times’s “1619 Project.” James McPherson, dean of Civil War historians and another Pulitzer winner, said the Times presented an “unbalanced, one-sided account” that “left most of the history out.” Even more surprising than the criticism from these generally liberal historians was where the interviews appeared: on the World Socialist Web Site, run by the Trotskyist Socialist Equality Party. The “1619 Project” was launched in August with a 100-page spread in the Times’s Sunday magazine. It intends to “reframe...

Nike is preparing to release yet another product lionizing Colin Kaepernick, this time, with a shoe memorializing the first time Kaepernick protested during the national anthem in 2016. The sportswear giant is set to issue the Colin Kaepernick x Nike Air Force 1, a low sneaker that features the date of the first time Kaepernick remained seated during the national anthem to protest against the country. “This special edition Nike Air Force 1 comes dressed in a Black and White color scheme,” SeanerBarDetroit explains. “It features a Black leather upper, a gradient-faded Swoosh on the sides completed with several personal...

... Today, in some West Coast cities, the Supermarket Sweep isn’t a game show—it’s a dark reality, fueled by addiction, crime, and bad public policy. From Seattle to Los Angeles, a “shoplifting boom” is hitting major retailers, which deal with thousands of thefts, drug overdoses, and assaults each year. Since 2010, thefts increased by 22 percent in Portland, 50 percent in San Francisco, and 61 percent in Los Angeles. In total, California, Oregon, and Washington reported 864,326 thefts to the FBI last year. The real figure is likely much higher, as many retailers have stopped reporting most shoplifting incidents to...

Former CIA Chief John Brennan is ramping up his attacks against President Trump after his first coup attempt using the Russian collusion canard failed. Brennan this week said Trump deserves to be ousted from office and called on Republicans in Congress to abandon the President. BRENNAN: Press conference with Finnish President shows President Trump is a national disgrace who deserves impeachment, conviction, & ouster from office. Republicans in Congress must abandon him now if they care about our country & have any hope of salvaging a political future for GOP.

On October 4, various left-wing Hollywood celebrities and The Democratic Coalition announced the creation of their “Impeachment Task Force.” According to Newsweek, this nutty group of liberal activists from La La Land are "hellbent on holding president 'accountable for his betrayal of America.'" Who’s on the Impeachment Task Force? The usual suspects you see called out on Newsbusters practically every day: Tom Arnold, Debra Messing, Alyssa Milano, Rosie O'Donnell, Ron Perlman, and George Takei. This motley crew would be better described as the Trump Derangement D-Listers for the way they regularly beclown themselves on Twitter about politics. And now they've...

The massive corruption and rampant anti-Americanism unleashed by the Obama/Hillary era socialist-democrats is almost overwhelming. Corruption was top down throughout our government from President Obama and his cabinet and dept heads. Obama, Biden, Kerry, Hillary, Clapper, Brennan, Lynch, Holder, Comey, and the list goes on and on. And this corruption also runs through the congress and is covered up by the complicit leftist media. And the democrat crime family tentacles run internationally. If they ever get around to following the obvious money trail throughout the world left by Obama/Biden/Kerry/Hillary, et al, it’ll reveal the biggest government scandal ever in world...

The Chinese state propaganda outlet Global Times cited the words of pop superstar Taylor Swift in an attack on President Donald Trump on Monday after she accused him of “gaslighting” his opponents into questioning their own love for the country. In a piece titled “Why Are the Chinese Brushing Aside Trump’s Tweets?” opinion writer Mu Lu tries to downplay Beijing’s reported concern at Trump’s warnings against China last week, when he ordered American companies to immediately leave China and move their production back to the United States. “The vast amounts of money made and stolen by China from the United...

Anti Trump: A man has been arrested after allegedly sending a rambling email to one of ABC News' affiliate stations in Tennessee, threatening to go to the "state capital to blow someone's brains out." ABC Nashville affiliate WKRN-TV received a threatening email on Wednesday, authorities said, allegedly from Nathan Semans, who also expressed his displeasure toward President Donald Trump. “Look if you don’t run story I’m going to state capital to blow someone’s brain out," the email read. "I don’t look good at the moment cause the tyranny of what trump did, the nature of this call is secret. You...
