Yang, who recently campaigned to become the Democratic nominee for the presidency, urged politicians to pass an economic relief bill as "people are hurting" amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Lawmakers have been trying to agree on a stimulus package over the last several months. Still, Democrats and Republicans disagree on many aspects of the next bill, including the total price point.

Former Democratic presidential candidate and entrepreneur Andrew Yang used the Memorial Day weekend to advocate for a four-day workweek on Twitter. "3-Day weekends are better than 2-Day weekends. SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A state lawmaker has introduced a universal basic income bill that would give every Californian $1,000 per month. AB 2712 was introduced by Assemblyman Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) on Thursday. The bill would create a California Universal Basic Income Program (CalUBI) where residents over 18-years-old would receive $1,000 per month.
