Stacey Abrams lost. You may remember her — she’s the lady who wanted to ban the most popular hunting rifle in America for confusing reasons (for example: it’s dangerous) yet who wouldn’t answer questions of confiscation (twice, covered here and here). Also let by the wayside on Tuesday: Florida’s Andrew Gillum. He’s the mayor of Tallahassee who was vying for the governorship. Abrams was shootin’ for the same, in Georgia. The two have a couple things in common: they’re Democrats, and… brace yourself…I know this is triggering… they’re black. Yes. Black. Take off your hoods and let that sink in....

A federal court in Tallahassee struck down a Florida law that listed the governor’s party first on all ballots, which Democrats argued gave Republicans a significant advantage in a state where the two biggest races in 2018 were both within 0.4 percentage points. In his ruling, District Court Judge Mark Walker issued a permanent injunction against the law, stating it violates both the First and 14th amendments of the Constitution. “Florida’s ballot order statute is not neutral; instead, it affects Plaintiffs’ rights in a politically discriminatory way,” Walker wrote. “… It is difficult to imagine what other purpose it could...

“If you’re trying to win Florida, I would be courting Andrew and that’s what’s happening,” a source familiar with the conversations said. ....candidates often keep a running list of influential individuals who they will informally call for ideas, advice, and, perhaps, to scope them out as a potential running mate. And for several candidates, including at least one in the top tier, former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is on speed dial. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), in particular, has been in contact with Gillum over the past several months... ....When reached for comment about the vice presidential buzz, a Warren campaign...

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., claimed Sunday that former Democratic gubernatorial candidates Stacey Abrams and Andrew Gillum would have won in 2018 if not for "voter suppression." “Let’s say this loud and clear: Without voter suppression, Stacey Abrams would be the governor of Georgia; Andrew Gillum is the governor of Florida," she said before calling for a new voting rights act. Harris, a 2020 hopeful, made those comments while appearing at the NAACP Freedom Fund dinner in Detroit. In a statement on Twitter, Harris similarly called for automatic voter registration and making Election Day a national holiday.

After a painstaking investigation into the Trayvon Martin shooting, I have produced a film and written a companion book, both called The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America. Only after I started the project did I realize I had stumbled onto the most spectacular case of identity fraud in modern American judicial history. Thanks to the folks at American Thinker for allowing me to reveal it here for the first time. I had originally set out to produce a documentary about the rise of 2018 Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum. The more I looked into Gillum’s success,...

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law Thursday a measure outlawing the sale or possession of child-like sex dolls that lawmakers argue promote sexual urges among pedophiles. However, some groups have argued just the opposite, saying those dolls can help prevent pedophiles from acting on those urges with actual children. The legislation (SB 160) was sponsored by Sen. Lauren Book and was unanimously approved by both houses of the Legislature. Rep. Michael Gottlieb filed a companion measure in the House (HB 1107). “A person may not knowingly sell, lend, give away, distribute, transmit, show, or transmute … an obscene, child-like sex...

The Big Lie is back in style. Wikipedia tells us that the term was invented by Adolf Hitler to describe what others did -- though he was the biggest liar of all. "The broad masses of a nation," he wrote in "Mein Kampf," "more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie." No one on the political scene in this country or any democratic nation is a monster comparable to Hitler. But some have resorted to the Big Lie in their attempts to override clear decisions of the people, at the risk of delegitimizing the nation's democracy....

Never mind about that plan to send illegal migrants to Florida. Thanks to some strong pushback from Governor Ron DeSantis, a loyal Trump supporter, the city of San Diego became the latest destination. With record numbers of people apprehended at the southern border, the Trump administration decided to relieve the overcrowding of detention centers at the border and fly detainees to other places. First, President Trump threatened to move them into sanctuary cities, which sounded like a reasonable idea to me. Then a plan was discussed to fly migrants, mostly families, to Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida....
