PHOENIX – Sen. Rand Paul will join Dr. Kelli Ward and her supporters in a joint rally in Scottsdale later this month, according to a release. The event is being held to support Ward’s candidacy to replace Sen. Jeff Flake in Senate, who announced in October that he would retire and not seek re-election in the upcoming Republican primary. On Monday, August 21, I attended a volunteer orientation in response to a call for help for the Trump rally the following day. It was not clear that this was from the Trump campaign or the Arizona GOP, but at any rate I and dozens and dozens of other people showed up at the Arizona Republican Party HQ.
