Assemblyman wants proof of legal residency CARSON CITY -- Newly elected Assemblyman Ty Cobb, R-Reno, said Monday he has requested a bill to prohibit Nevada residents living here illegally from receiving most state benefits, including the Millennium Scholarship for academically qualified high school graduates. Cobb's measure, now being drafted, would require a Social Security number or some other form of identification showing a person is a legal resident of the country before he or she could gain access to state programs.
