Honorable Carlos Gutierrez - Vote McCain (English)
-
American troops fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, while America's relations with its allies falter. The economic suffering in the U.S. spreads. The challenges facing the next U.S. president are enormous. A strong, steady, experienced leader must steer us through these turbulent times. Republican John McCain is that leader. Tested, McCain has demonstrated personal and political courage. Voters should elect him our next president. In 2000, this newspaper proudly endorsed McCain when he challenged George W. Bush for the Republican presidential nomination. Like today, McCain was the most experienced and knowledgeable candidate, with the political courage to stand up to partisan...

The only truly experienced leader in this race -- the gentleman whose resume actually is worthy of the phrase -- is John McCain, 72, war hero, former congressman and longtime U.S. senator of Arizona. We first endorsed Mr. McCain for president in February, long before we knew Sen. Obama would be the Democrat nominee. But our words then are even more apropos now.

After reading yesterday's Jersey Journal endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama for president, the Rev. Alexander Santora, the Journal's religion columnist, sent this piece along, offering a different point of view: I am proud to reveal that I am voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin in Tuesday's election. And this comes from the former co-chair for McGovern for President campaign at St. Peter's College in 1972, my first vote for President. I am a lifelong Democrat who has voted Democrat in every primary and election from local to national since that time except when I voted for Bret Schundler in...

We've sometimes wished for a different choice. The never-ending campaign that has been the 2008 election will soon - and mercifully - be coming to an end. The race for the White House that began, it seems fair to say, just a couple of minutes after the results of the 2006 congressional elections were known, will conclude on Tuesday. For the first time since 1960, when the nation elected to send John F. Kennedy to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., voters will decide that a member of the U.S. Senate should become the nation's chief executive officer. The next president will be...

John McCain's most powerful ad -- an open letter to Barack Obama in which an Iraq War veteran criticizes his stand on the war -- didn't cost the Republican candidate a dime. In "Dear Mr. Obama," army veteran Joe Cook stands in front of the camera and scolds the Democratic presidential candidate for calling the Iraq war a mistake. The two-minute video, which was posted on YouTube, has gotten more than 11 million hits and is the most popular election video on the site.

Heres what they said: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=6195316&blogID=445350077 _______________________________________________________________ We Endorse JOHN McCAIN for president! Current mood: anxious I know this isn't going to be cool.... and it does not necesserily represent the opinions of the bands on the label..... and I do normally try to keep politics out of the label business, but this election is too important to sit on the sidelines. I know many of you think anything "establishment" is bad... and you've got disgust for anything GW Bush and (the party that birthed him) the Republicans (and I would agree...

WASHINGTON – Richard Mellon Scaife, formerly No. 1 on Bill Clinton's enemies list as the so-called "marionette" of the "vast right-wing conspiracy," has chosen to endorse Pennsylvania Democrat Congressman John Murtha, who infamously declared U.S. Marines in Haditha, Iraq, were cold-blooded killers and just in recent days called his constituents "racist." Scaife, who personally funded many of the investigations of the Clinton administration that led to the president's impeachment, used his Pittsburgh Tribune-Review newspaper to express support for Murtha. "Mr. Murtha, seeking his 18th House term, has become a lot of people's favorite whipping boy. Just this month, he was...

Unlike the John Mayer endorsement of Obama, this comes from the counterintuitive celebrity endorsements file. Joe Perry on McCain: “I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” he told the Herald. “My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you’ll get what you’re working for. I guess I’m living proof of that.” Of criticism about McCain’s age, Perry said: “My mother’s in her 80s and she does aerobics. My manager’s 70 and he’s right there. That doesn’t bother me.” And despite lopsided polls, he urged his fans to get...

Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore faces a difficult political task this year, running as a red-state conservative in Virginia - a "purple" state that is turning increasingly blue. The Democratic nominee, former Gov. Mark Warner, is heavily favored to win the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican John Warner, who has held it for 30 years. But Mr. Gilmore would be the superior choice. ... As governor, Mr. Gilmore is best known for his work to repeal the oppressive car tax. Mr. Warner's major political achievement as governor was his success in pushing a $1.4 billion tax increase through...

Aerosmith has generally left the politics to bands like U2 and the Dixie Chicks, but axeman Joe Perry says national security and economic woes have prompted him to split from the rest of the entertainment world and throw his support behind John McCain.

As the presidential race enters its final week and the candidates step up their efforts to woo the space vote, both sides are trotting out the biggest space guns they can find: Apollo astronauts. Over the weekend, Apollo 7 astronaut Walt Cunningham toured cities around Florida to help promote Republican hopeful Sen. John McCain’s campaign by backing the candidate and his space platform. Cunningham said he had never campaigned for a candidate before but said that unlike Democratic contender Sen. Barack Obama, McCain had a track record supporting NASA and was more reliable on the issue. Obama, he said, was...

Palestinian Authority newspaper reported on Sunday that Arab residents of Gaza are randomly calling Americans at home in hopes of persuading them to vote for Democratic candidate Senator Barack Obama in next month's US presidential election. The article in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, first noted and translated by Palestinian Media Watch, quotes a young man from the Hamas-controlled Gaza region as saying, "We dial random numbers and try to call people [in the United States] without knowing their identity or their affiliation...." He reportedly uses "Internet sites that allow making free calls... in order to use them for the campaign supporting Obama."...

EXAMINER ENDORSES JIM GILMORE FOR SENATE Gilmore for U.S. Senate By Examiner Editorial October 27, 2008 With the economy in turmoil and danger abroad, do voters want a candidate who keeps his word or one who doesn’t? That’s the stark choice in Virginia, where two former governors are running to replace retiring Republican John Warner in the U.S. Senate. With public confidence in Washington at record lows, Jim Gilmore’s veracity has earned him The Examiner’s endorsement as the best choice for Virginia - and the nation. Gilmore took tremendous political flak for keeping his promise to get...

Though members of the mainstream media seem to have noticed in recent days that the radical, thoroughly corrupt left-wing group ACORN exists, the MSM are still accepting ACORN's word that it is strictly nonpartisan.Nothing could be further from the truth. While the MSM continue to churn out stories about alleged "voter suppression" (yes, it exists, but it is a pretty minor thing, especially when compared to ACORN's widespread electoral fraud), ACORN's interim organizer in chief Bertha Lewis has removed any remaining doubt about which political party ACORN supports.Lewis is featured in a video posted on YouTube by an ACORN affiliate,Working...
