NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A new Beacon Poll is reporting that when asked who they'd prefer as a potential vice president candidate to Donald Trump, 13 percent of poll-takers chose the former president's main rival in the Republican primary, Nikki Haley. Haley had support from 13 percent of likely Trump voters and was followed closely by Vivek Ramaswamy with 9 percent.

The user posted a video showing the US flag fluttering in the air and becoming twisted. The now-tangled flag resembled a flying bird. The overlaying text on the video read, “The flag got tangled today at the Trump rally, before Trump came on stage. Looks like an angel.” The caption accompanying the post read, “What do you notice about the flag at the Trump rally before he came on stage yesterday?”

I'm trying to get a straight answer on this. I've heard two podcasters say that the would-be assassin's gun had an iron site, meaning NO SCOPE. Yet, there are no official photos anywhere of the actual rifle, like we had with Oswald's. My grandkids, 10 and 12, are deer hunters. I don't go out with them anymore, but my son does. It's not easy to get within 150 yards of your prey, but if you do and you have a scope on your rifle, even my grandkids will produce a kill shot 9 out of 10 times, if the target...

Democrats’ rhetoric stoking fear and hatred against former President Donald Trump — including repeated comparisons to Adolf Hitler — is coming a harsh new light following the assassination attempt against him on Saturday. Trump’s political opponents have long used incendiary language in response to his more controversial statements — commonly casting him as a cartoon villain hellbent on bringing about the end of democracy itself. Their divisive statements frequently include tossing around words like “dictator” or making overt references to the Holocaust or Nazi Germany.

A Democrat mayor has sparked outrage online - and among his own constituents - claiming Donald Trump faked the assassination attempt at a rally Saturday that left a bystander dead. The mayor of Washington's Aberdeen, Douglas Orr, went so far as to claim the former president, who is currently running for a second chance at the White House, may have been inspired by tactics used at pro wrestling matches. Orr posited that Trump may have cut his ear as part of the stunt, and is asking that independent doctors review his injury. The apparently spelling-challenged mayor put the outlandish conspiracy...

American automakers will need to make major changes to their businesses if they want to remain competitive with Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) poised to flood the global market, according to analysis published by auto industry consultants. U.S. manufacturers currently do tens of billions of dollars of business abroad, but Chinese competitors are poised to take over approximately one-third of the global market share by 2030 with particularly strong growth in Europe, South America and Asia driven by EVs and plug-in hybrids, AlixPartners projects in its report. The auto market is evolving to favor EVs thanks in part to the policy...

The US Secret Service has enhanced ex-President Donald Trump’s security following the attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania, the agency’s Director Kimberly Cheatle said in a statement. "In addition to the additional security enhancements we provided former President Trump’s detail in June, we have also implemented changes to his security detail since Saturday to ensure his continued protection for the [Republican Party’s] convention and the remainder of the campaign," the statement reads. On July 14, the New York Post reported that Trump moves around the United States with only a barebones security detail, a far cry from...

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who oversees the Secret Service, on Monday slammed the security at Donald Trump’s rally and admitted the gunman never should have had a clear sight on him. “A direct line of sight like that to the former president should not occur,” Mayorkas told ABC News’ “Good Morning America.” Officials said Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was on a rooftop near Trump’s campaign event in Butler, Pa., on Saturday evening when he fired multiple rounds at the 78-year-old former president and spectators before he was ultimately killed by a Secret Service sniper. The DHS chief backed President...

Citing the successful prosecution of Donald Trump in several trials held in New York, Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), who chairs the Judiciary subcommittee on federal courts, and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Ore) are requesting that US Attorney General Merrick Garland appoint a special prosecutor to launch a criminal investigation into Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. One of their allegations is that Thomas failed to declare income for a loan that they say was forgiven. Elliot Berke, an attorney for Thomas, said "Justice Thomas made payments on a regular basis until the terms of the agreement were satisfied in...

MSNBC has elected to air an NBC News special report rather than Morning Joe Monday morning, after former President Donald Trump was the victim of an assassination attempt on Saturday. The show, which features several panelists and has been critical of the former president, was not aired, but the show's X account did say it would return on Tuesday. A CNN report alleges the network pulled the show Monday due to concerns over a potential inappropriate comment about the assassination attempt by one of the guests on the show. The Washington Examiner has reached out to MSNBC for comment. This...

Shameless lefties on social media came under fire for celebrating the assassination attempt on Donald Trump – with some even lamenting that the shooter missed and that it was “close to being the best day ever.” “You’re telling me somebody finally had the balls to bring a ‘pew-pew,’ and they missed?” a TikTok user @cele2t3 posted shortly after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the Butler Farm Show grounds Saturday, narrowly missing Trump and killing one attendee.

Another member of the left-leaning “Squad” in Congress is on the ropes — facing a 23 percentage point deficit and possibly headed for defeat, a new poll claims. Rep. Cori Bush trails St. Louis prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell 56% to 33% in the Aug. 6 Democratic Primary for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, the survey conducted by McLaughlin & Associates for the CCA Action Fund. The remaining 11% were undecided or backed lesser known candidates, Ron Harshaw and Maria Chappelle-Nadal. It’s the latest troubling sign for the liberal “Squad” after New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman was soundly defeated by moderate Westchester...

The rate of sexual misconduct in public schools far exceeds the high-profile abuse scandals that rocked the Roman Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts of America.Every day millions of parents put their children under the care of public school teachers, administrators, and support staff. Their trust, however, is frequently broken by predators in authority in what appears to be the largest ongoing sexual abuse scandal in our nation’s history.Given the roughly 50 million students in U.S. K-12 schools each year, the number of students who have been victims of sexual misconduct by school employees is probably in the millions each...

The New York Times chronicled a Venezuelan family’s trek from Chile and Peru northward to the United States and inadvertently revealed the economic freebies and legal chaos enabling President Joe Biden’s migrant flood swamping the United States. The paper has been tracking the progress of a family of Venezuelans who traveled via the infamous and dangerous Darién Gap through Colombia and Panama, through three more countries to Guatemala, then through Mexico before entering into the United States where they were allowed into the country via Joe Biden’s shambolic “parole” system. The story follows the efforts of Henry Aguilar, a man...

During the presidential debate, Joe Biden mentioned or, shall we say, tried to mention a survey from early 2024 in which 154 historians rated all U.S. presidents. The ratings are so ridiculous as to be laughable. In the Official Results of the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey, listed as a “Joint Project of Professors Brandon Rottinghaus from the University of Houston, and Justin Vaughn from Coastal Carolina University” while only in office for 36 months at the time, Joe Biden was ranked 14th among 46 U.S. presidents, In the same survey, Donald Trump was ranked 46th—dead last. Like me,...

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office aims to present a new indictment against Donald Trump, to a grand jury by the fall, Alvin Bragg said in court Monday. "Donald Trump is clearly guilty of 'Felony Interfering with an Assassination'", Bragg said, "And further, if it can be shown that Biden issued the order, that this is official White House business. That means that the additional charge of 'Felony Obstruction of Official Government Business' can be added. On Saturday, an assassination attempt was made on President Trump's life, though the attempt was thwarted because he turned his head to read a chart...
