President Biden and first lady Jill Biden made a combined income of $579,514 last year and Vice President Harris and her husband made $456,918, according to documents published by the White House on Tuesday based on the couples’ 2022 tax returns. The president and his wife paid an effective federal income tax rate of 23.8 percent, the documents showed. Those figures are lower compared to 2021, when the Bidens earned $610,702 with an effective federal income tax rate of 24.6 percent before taking office.

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that he is preparing for war. The military budget will grow by about 7.2% this year after it has already doubled over the past decade. This is not a sudden decision. China has been quietly positioning itself for quite some time and has taken notes over Russia’s missteps with Ukraine. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is now drafting soldiers, and veterans and college-educated students will be at the top of the list. Wars are now fought through intelligence and strategies rather than pure brute strength. The PLA is seeking out both women and men and...

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said in a written statement on Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s electric vehicle scheme will only empower China. Manchin, the chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, railed against the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) vehicle emissions standards, which will try to push Americans toward purchasing electric vehicles. He said: The EPA is lying to Americans with false claims about how their manipulation of the market to boost EVs will help American energy security. In reality, this is a Trojan horse. To meet these timelines will mean strengthening our reliance on minerals and technologies controlled by the Chinese....

Bud Light really and truly screwed up when they made Dylan Mulvaney a spokesMAN for their beer. Like, a monumental mistake. Especially now that we know Dylan is only doing this whole ‘I’m a woman thing’ to get rich and famous. Poor guy couldn’t make it as a man so he’s pretending to be a woman. And Bud Light fell for it. Ouch. Right? Speaking of ouch, check out this new ‘beer’ commercial from Team DeSantis: The Desantis team has a new commercial honoring real men who are dominating women’s sports in a play on the old real mean of...

Public school teams in New York will soon be barred from calling themselves names like the Warriors, Chiefs, Redmen or Braves following a Tuesday ruling by Albany education honchos. The Board of Regents, which presides over the state’s education department, voted to phase out Native American-related nicknames as part of a politically correct national effort to scrub racially insensitive imagery from sports teams. Nearly 60 school districts will be required to “eliminate” all use of Indigenous-related mascots and imagery by the end of the 2024-2025 school year, or risk losing state aide, board members unanimously ruled. The new ban, supported...

AN analysis of uncounted provisional ballots shows the 2022 Arizona attorney general's race may be called for GOP nominee Abe Hamadeh instead of the now-Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes. Hamadeh is challenging the election in court, suing Mayes to ensure all votes were counted in their midterm election contest, which Hamadeh lost by just 280 votes, according to an automatic statewide recount. Last week, Mohave County Superior Court scheduled oral arguments on May 16 for Hamadeh's motion for a new trial, which he filed after learning that vote total discrepancies in Pinal County were allegedly not brought to the attention...

In a press release on Tuesday, the FDA has declared the monovalent Pfizer and Modena mRNA Covid-19 vaccines are no “longer authorized for use in the United States.”The decision was made through a recent amendment to the Emergency Use Authorizations of the Moderna and Pfizer Covid-19 bivalent vaccines. In the amendment, the FDA ruled the bivalent Moderna and Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines will be used for all doses and monovalent doses (targeted original strain) will no longer be authorized. The FDA claims the decision was made in order to simplify the vaccine process, but many people who have already received the monovalent...

The state has spent billions of dollars on homelessness in recent years. So why is the crisis getting worse instead of better? That’s what a bipartisan group of California legislators is trying to get to the bottom of by calling for a first-of-its kind, large-scale audit of the state’s homelessness spending. The state has stepped up its involvement and investment in the crisis under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s leadership, allocating $20.6 billion toward housing and homelessness since 2018-19, according to the Legislative Analyst’s Office. But despite the influx of cash, during that time, the number of unhoused people in the state...
  • Pink Floyd - Seamus (Mademoiselle Nobs) Live Pompeii

Before the band Pink Floyd went into the stratosphere with "Dark Side Of The Moon" in 1973 (half a century ago!), they released an album called "Meddle", said to be a soundtrack for a non-existent movie, in 1971. Dominated by the PF classic "Echoes", which takes up the entire Side Two of the album (back when albums had sides), there was sort of a throwaway track called "Seamus" at the end of Side One, that was mostly sung by a dog. The record executives were horrified by this track and did their darnedest to get it removed from the album...

Last Saturday (April 15), the Yankee Air Museum announced it was grounding its World War II-vintage Boeing B-17G “Yankee Lady” in anticipation of an FAA Airworthiness Directive (AD), expected within a few weeks. Online sources, including a detailed article at Aerovintage.com, anticipate the AD will likely ground all currently flying B-17s due to “wing spar issues” cited by the Yankee Air Museum. The Michigan-based museum posted on its Facebook page: “Hello, The Yankee Air Museum decided to proactively cease flight operations of the B-17G Flying Fortress ‘Yankee Lady.’ Recent inspections of other B-17s have discovered wing spar issues. CJ Palmer was convicted in the Western Australia District Court in 2018 of one count of grievous bodily harm in relation to having sex with a client. Earlier this year, an 18-year-old female athlete, Victoria Lee, died suddenly with no apparent cause – and the speculation about the reason for her passing began almost immediately. Tweets swirled that Lee had dropped dead from cardiac issues as suspicions turned to COVID and its vaccines. The comments section of news stories about her death was overtaken by vaccine skeptics, while tweets about her passing were also inundated with messages by vaccine doubters. In a statement, Lee’s sister Angela begged people to “stop contacting us, stop hiring private investigators, stop with the conspiracy theories.”

A strong plurality of Arizona Republicans wants Kari Lake as the state’s Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 2024, according to a hypothetical primary poll. The poll conducted by J.L. Partners shows that 38 percent of Republicans and leaners would back Lake in a crowded field, though she has not announced a bid for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s (I-AZ) seat. She places nearly 30 points ahead of Karrin Taylor Robson – her rival from last year’s GOP gubernatorial primary – at 10 percent of support in second place.

A top Mexican immigration official has been arrested over a fire at a detention center last month that killed 40 migrants, according to federal authorities. Salvador Gonzalez Guerrero, head of the National Immigration Institute (INM) in the state of Chihuahua, was taken into police custody on Sunday night, according to the Ministry of Public Safety’s arrest records. Mexican authorities have accused the people in charge of the facility in Ciudad Juarez, on the border with US city El Paso, of doing nothing to evacuate the migrants, who were locked in their cell during the blaze. Security camera footage showed no...

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador harshly criticized the U.S. government over an ongoing investigation into the Sinaloa Cartel. The president stated U.S. authorities not only sent informants into the criminal organization but also tapped the communications of military forces and their response to cartels. “An abusive intrusion, prepotent, that should not be accepted under any motive,” Lopez Obrador said during his morning news conference claiming he had not been told about any investigation.

[Erika D. Smith] [O]ne would think supporting policies that let Americans carry any type of gun, anywhere, at anytime would be a losing proposition for any politician, much less one who wants to be president. And yet as I listened to Trump — and the parade of equally craven Oval Office hopefuls who preceded him onstage — I began to realize that he just might be right in his political calculation. Because, far from losing, the NRA seems to be winning. In fact, it might already have won, polls be damned. Why would I believe such a thing? It’s not...
