My convictions that Barack Obama is hiding a virtual treasure trove of personal papers and documents that would cast his life in a different light than his self-serving autobiography did have been confirmed by the first leak of his college writings. Not only my convictions have been confirmed – so have my worst fears. Back on March 10, 1983, Barack Obama, minus the Hussein, published a bylined screed in the Columbia University Sundial that denounced U.S. defense policies and claimed that calls for a nuclear freeze might lead to peace. Obama's goal? Replace the Judeo-Christian values that gave birth to...

CHICAGO (Reuters) – The former chief of staff for ousted Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich pleaded guilty on Wednesday and agreed to testify about attempts to cash in on the governor's power to fill a vacant U.S. Senate post. John Harris, 47, became the first of six defendants indicted in the corruption case against Blagojevich to reach a plea agreement with prosecutors. A trial is scheduled for June. Prosecutors have said Blagojevich was arrested in December to prevent him from carrying out tape-recorded threats to trade the Senate seat vacated by newly elected President Barack Obama. Two months later, Blagojevich was...

BOSTON — Massachusetts is suing the federal government over a law that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman. State Attorney General Martha Coakley filed the lawsuit today in federal court in Boston. It says the federal Defense of Marriage Act interferes with the right of Massachusetts to define marriage as it sees fit.

Enough! You got two for the price of one if you attended Michael Jackson's spectacular dog-and-pony show yesterday -- a memorial as dignified as a Vegas lounge-lizard act combined with the entertainment value of a carnival freak show. How soon one forgets, given the opportunity to participate in this mass hysteria. From the accolades, prayers and cries of grief, you'd think you were witnessing the death of a saint, not an accused serial pedophile who hated the skin in which he lived.

Gov. David Paterson has appointed businessman Richard Ravitch lieutenant governor. In a 5 p.m. address, Paterson said the move was necessary as a result of the “chaos†in the Senate. Paterson called the move unprecedented but necessary. “I see closure to this crisis,†Paterson said, adding that he was seeking New Yorkers’ support for his decision. He also said he expects a legal challenge to his decision and asked there are plans for “future legal action, I ask it be done expeditiously.†Ravitch is the former chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority chair. Paterson said he appointed Ravitch because the...

Many pundits and commentators assume that they live in the same world as the current group of 16-20 somethings currently gathering all the media and political attention. Yet even if they have barely crossed the ’30 mark’ their world is still vastly different from ours. To point out a few differences, most of us learned to drive on two to three dollar a gallon gasoline and don’t consider it too bad, we’ve never really looked anything up in an encyclopedia except for an assignment, the internet is a part of our daily social lives rather than an addition to it,...

FORGETTING SARAH PALINJuly 8, 2009 Sarah Palin has deeply disappointed her enemies. People who hate her guts feel she's really let them down by resigning. She's like the ex-girlfriend they're SO over, never want to see again, have already forgotten about -- really, it's O-ver -- but they just can't stop talking about her. Liberal: Ha, ha ... Sarah who? She's over, she's toast, a future Trivial Pursuit answer, nothing more. Normal person: Whatever. How about the North Korean missiles? Liberal: Can you believe she just resigned the governorship like that? What a quitter! Normal person: Speaking of quitting, how's...

I just read an email from the re-election campaign of my state's senior senator, Blanche Lincoln, which proudly touts her column which appeared this morning in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette entitled "Health Care for All". After reading this op-ed, it has become obvious that Sen. Lincoln has started to feel the pressure from liberal groups who disliked her stance on the "public option" touted by President Barack Obama and showing that she has become a bit more concerned as to her chances of keeping her job in Washington (where she has spent virtually all her adult life). Sen. Lincoln's acquiescence to...

Reader Tim in Bonney Lake, Washington forwarded me his e-mail exchange with GOP Cap-and-Tax 8-er Rep. Dave Reichert. Definitely worth sharing, because it reflects a sentiment that hasn’t died down since the cramdown two weeks ago: Hi, Michelle -

Here is video of Police in Nashville announcing their findings that former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair was the victim of a murder-suicide. They said McNair was killed by his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, as he sat sleeping on a sofa. She shot him in the right temple, then shot him twice in the chest, followed by a shot to the left temple. She then positioned herself on the sofa beside McNair and shot herself in the head. . . . . . (Watch Video)

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The White House is saying that pro-abortion President Barack Obama and Pope Benedict XVI, the head of the Catholic Church, will have a "frank' talk on abortion when they meet on Friday. Obama is currently in Italy for the Group of Eight summit and the two will meet after the conference concludes. "I think there will be a frank discussion [about abortion]," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters aboard Air Force One, according to an AP report. On subject like abortion where Obama is out of step with the pro-life teachings of the Catholic faith,...

The call was made in the report ‘Hope in God’s Future’, received by the annual Methodist Conference on Wednesday. The report encourages people to repent in particular for their complicity in systems that exploit creation and prey on the powerless, but also offers advice on how Christians can make positive lifestyle changes. Rev David Gamble, the President of the Conference, said the report sent out a challenge to the Church to tackle the issue head on and commit to “significant action” over the next few years. “The first step in making a difference is the recognition of what we’ve done...

25% of Chrysler dealerships getting shutdown with a very high percentage being GOP supporters. I would call that corruption and misuse of Recovery Act money. Think Earl Devaney (head of RATB) will get the congressional OK to do any investigation on this? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anything to happen http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/46843887.html They want Barney Frank to help them investigate? HELLOOOOOO! Pot, kettle, black, henhouse, fox, and sell me some beachfront property in the Mohave. (stocking up on Toyota parts before that becomes illegal too!) Obiecorps gets busted for missuse of 800K stimulus money, the IG responsible for finding...

THE Navy is facing a sex scandal involving claims male sailors took part in a contest to bed women sailors, assigning a dollar value to each conquest. Higher values were placed on officers or lesbians and scores were recorded in a book referred to as ``the ledger.'' Competitors were also encouraged to have sex in unusual places such as on pool tables. The allegations have been made against crew aboard HMAS Success, the largest ship ever built for the Australian Navy and the flagship of the fleet.

Sarah Palin’s decision to resign as governor of Alaska lifted her standing among Republicans, according to a USA Today/Gallup Poll. A USA Today story about the poll says, “Republicans are somewhat inclined to see her more favorably” in light of her announcement Friday. But neither that story nor one on Gallup’s web site gives precise numbers. Seven out 10 respondents in the poll, conducted Monday, say their views about Palin weren’t influenced by her departure as governor. Of those who were affected by the move, Democrats view Palin less favorably by a 4-to-1 margin and independents by a 2-to-1 ratio....

Some people think it’s been all bad news for school choice this year. Well, it’s all bad news if you follow the standard procedure of only paying attention to the bad news. But last month, the movement scored a big win: Indiana enacted a $2.5 million choice program, the state’s first. And if you take a broader view, you’ll see there was other good news for school choice along with the bad in the 2009 legislative season. This is important because we’ve seen some people occasionally seize on any piece of bad news as an excuse to declare vouchers politically...
