I believe the mark of the beast is the ‘system’; on the forehead as that’s how you think. On the hand as that’s the work you perform.

I’ll go with the straight biblical interpretation.
I will say that in 1977 I worked for a bank that installed ATMs and mailed out debit cards to everyone with a checking account. We sent the PIN numbers out separately a few days later. We got several calls saying that that the PIN numbers were the mark of the beast.

The words “Allah Akbar” in Arabic according to some, but then it says it is a number, so I’m not sure about that.

Please explain... if, instead of a visible mark, it’s only how you think or what work you do... how would the Antichrist’s system be able to keep people from buying or selling (like purchasing food). It it’s not an actual “mark” (or embedded chip, tattoo, etc.)... how would his minions know to discriminate and persecute those without any mark or visible stamp of some kind?
