“One of the bishops of the church argued with Tyndale, saying that it would be better for the people to have the pope’s law than God’s law.”

Yeah, that never happened. All historians who studied the changes made in Foxe’s book know that the changes were so significant between the 1563 and 1570 editions that the story is a pious hoax.

Again, you need to study history and not Protestant fables.

If you keep posting garbage hoaxes like this I might have to start posting John Henry Newman’s explanation as to why Protestants have to lie.

Oh, for crying out loud. The best you can do is that?

And you believe Jews mix in the blood of Christian boys into their matzos too, right?

If you’re going to be an embarrassment, at least be an embarrassment for Christ and not ignorance.

“How’s that unGodly, Marxist “Vicar of Christ” working out for you?”

For me, as a traditionalist Catholic, he’s working great because he proves the traditional Catholic faith correct by failing it by acting like a Protestant.

“Protestants do not claim the canon of Scripture is infallible. That’s a Catholic thing. Protestants believe their canon is correct and that each book is the infallible word of God. Like Athanasius we believe that the books in the Apocrypha are not canonical but are helpful works.”

You must also be a product of government schools. Let me point out your errors:

1) If it is “correct”, then it is “infallible”. The two can never be mutually exclusive. That would be a logical impossibility.

2) About Athanasius, you better do some serious research because Athanasius also calls the Deuterocanonical books Scripture and “Holy Scripture”. Gary Michuta, has written about this in one or two of his books on the Deuterocanonical books. I have one of them but not The Case for the Deuterocanon (2nd ed.). Nikaria Press. where he talks about this fact on page 138. You can save yourself some embarrassment by simply reading this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_letter

And you believe in virtually nothing like Athanasius. You can’t. You’re Protestant.

“One book that Luther didn’t like was the Letter of James because it denounces so-called “faith” without works.”

Absolutely true! Catholics annoyed Luther by pointing out that James denounced his phony baloney made up latter day invented gospel.

Agree!

It just aggravates me to see so much 'gospel' appear so long after the apostles had died...

I think the term is either heretic or apostate.

The results of their rebellion are obvious. Every bizarre denomination on the planet can trace their beginnings back to those people.

Face it you’ve been cheated ...

I've not been cheated, except by my own sins, and the Messiah has restored me. I am a disciple that Yeshua/Jesus loves and Miriam/Mary is my mother.

1 Corinthians 3:
  1. And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
  2. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
  3. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
  4. For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
  5. Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
  6. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
  7. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
  8. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
  9. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
  10. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
  11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
  12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
  13. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
  14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
  15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
  16. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
  17. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
  18. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
  19. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
  20. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
  21. Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
  22. Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
  23. And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

They seem to be taught according to their doctrine (false as it may be) that they have replaced God with a non Biblical office they call pope. Therefore, playing God, they believe they have that authority to condemn and damn those that adhere to Biblical Scripture. They skate on very thin ice.

In case you haven’t noticed, WE who abide by Scripture rather than traditions, false doctrines and man made religion. Your pagan religion created the unscriptural office of the pope, so he’s a problem of your own catholicism making. Here’s a hint, there is no Biblical office of Pope and unless your “cardinals” sprout wings, I’ll call them out as well. Shall we continue? How about the many scandalous popes of the past? And that’s who people like yourselves bow down to and kiss their ring?

That’s either mobbish, or cultish. You decide!

Answer:

Christian

Found your faith group here:

A Brief Overview The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a mainline Protestant denomination that comprises approximately 700,000 members in about 4000 congregations. The denomination’s local churches are congregationally governed but come together around the shared practices of weekly communion, believer’s baptism, and a focus on Christian unity, service and matters of social justice. The denomination emerged out of Presbyterian and Baptist roots during the Second Great Awakening in the early 19th century as part of something known as the Restoration Movement.

About Disciples Beliefs (Taken from the national office website) (www.disciples.org) We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.

What does that mean? We practice unity and inclusion at the Lord’s Table for the sake of mission and for the sake of the world as the one family of God. Most congregations do this by celebrating communion every Sunday. That’s why we use a chalice as our logo.

We practice believer’s baptism – that a person makes the choice to follow God’s call rather than the choice being made for them as an infant. Baptism is the basis of membership in the Church and also a mark that every person is called to serve God – the idea of the “priesthood of all believers.”

We honor our heritage as a movement for Christian unity by cooperating and partnering with other faith communities to work for bringing about wholeness – healing and justice – in the world. This is what it means to be “ecumenical.” One example is our cooperative work with the United Church of Christ in Global Ministries for the past 25 years and our newer effort to share staff in the area of family ministries.

We are called to study and read scripture for ourselves. Rather than having tests of faith and creedal statements, we critically and thoughtfully study scripture, taking into account the history and background – the context – in which it was written.

We also honor the heritage of Christian unity by staying together in covenant as a witness to the world that even when we disagree we can still make room, welcoming all to the table as Christ has welcomed us. Our spiritual ancestors were fond of saying, “unity, not uniformity.”

We move to answer God’s call for justice particularly in the areas of care for the earth, the challenges for women and children, poverty and hunger and immigration. We seek to do this work in cooperation with other people of faith. Some say we “get dirty for Jesus” as a way of conveying the hands-on mission orientation of many of our faith communities.

"But nothing from The Bible?   Because Caths are discouraged From Reading It!"

That is completely false.   The honest truth of the matter is that Catholics are highly encouraged to read and study the Bible.   (I am not a Catholic, but I am quite familiar with their culture and teachings.)

Do yourself a favor.   Do a Google search for 'Catholic Bible Study'.   Here are some of the links you will get from that search (and this is just the tip of the iceberg).

Here are some Catholic Bible Studies:

And here are some Catholic Study Bibles, and some other Catholic Bible Study resources:

News flash! Neither your pope or your religion is “infallible”

If your pagan rituals are NOT found to be supported by Scripture they are man made!

Allow me to educate you in Scripture:

Revelation 22:18-19
King James Version

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Your pagan religion is neither Godly or True! It is not supported by Biblical Scripture.

Matthew 15:9
King James Version

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Titus 1:13-15

13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Colossians 2:21-22

21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

1 Timothy 4:7-9

7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
