On August 14, The Atlantic published a blasphemous article by Daniel Panneton titled, “How Extremist Gun Culture Is Trying to Co-Opt the Rosary.” In it, he tries to portray the sacramental, first promoted by Saint Dominic, as an extremist far-right symbol that poses a violent threat to society. Here are some of the things the author said in his article:
* Attacking those who faithfully recite the Rosary in reparation for sin, he stated that “armed radical traditionalists have taken up a spiritual notion that the rosary can be a weapon in the fight against evil and turned it into something dangerously literal.”
* He considers the Rosary a tool that radical-traditional Catholics use to “literally demonize their political opponents and regard the use of armed force against them as sanctified.”
* He openly links the sacramental to “conspiratorial politics and absolutist gun culture.”
These attacks are not only offensive to faithful Catholics who devoutly recite the Rosary, but also distort the nature of the holy Rosary itself! He blasphemously reduces the Rosary to a good luck charm appropriated by an extremist fringe.
This dishonorable attack against the Rosary must be opposed. Please, join me in protest!
Thank you. And may Our Lady reward you!
The militarism also glorifies a warrior mentality and notions of manliness and male strength

Their editor was killed by an IED in Iraq in 2004 and the librats soon took the magazine over. Today it is a garbage rag and I won’t allow a copy in my house.
Indeed. This pathetic pusillanimous poltroon is apparently runnin' skeered of little old ladies who have the audacity to pray for him.
Since when do religious people have any rights in the United States?
Look for Rosary Registration coming our way…
Have to wonder how much of this “License to Offend” comes from the legal precedent that protects the media from defamation suits, the same precedent that has apparently stopped those Covington (KY) Catholic HS lawsuits from continuing. With that protection, these publications have really saved money on copy and proof editors!
[NB: Yes I know that the Rosary would not be a legal entity to sue, it is the ease that these media garbage outfits get away with it!]
I believe that the Atlantic is now wholly owned by Lauren Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs (Apple). This is through her LLC, the Emerson Collective. And ... yes, she is megaLEFT and a big donor for the same and the 'D'onkey Party (but I repeat myself)!
The rosary prayers consist mostly of the Hail Mary (where we acknowledge her as the mother of Jesus and ask for her intercession to Him, as we are all sinners) and the Lord’s prayer, (in which we ask God to provide for us and guide us be loving towards one another).
The rosary is a prayer of humility and love - not hate. We were instructed by Jesus to pray for our enemies.
In the UK, you can (apparently) wear religious clothing like a hijab or a Sikh Turban BUT a Christian Cross unhidden by clothing has been deemed as offensive in schools and government.
Here in the FREE USofA, it took a 2022 US Supreme Court ruling, Shurtleff v Boston, to permit the flying of a Christian Organization's Flag in Boston! Such gracious consideration by Boston!
“Mother Mary will get those blasphemers for that!” No she won’t. She will simply smile at Her Son and He will catch the drift. “When the wicked are destroyed, you will see it” (Ps 37:34).
Just got back from Mass, and dinner. Nobody stopped me. What are you referring to?
A person could choke on them. They're just the right size. And a good size string of prayer beads and a person could strangle another person. They are potentially a weapon. I socially distance myself from someone swinging a prayer beads around.
Just my view of the woke United States. You are welcome to disagree. Leftists accuse anyone religious of crossing the line of church and state.
I apologize for not going into details to prove anything tonight.
No worries Frank👍
I understand your point.
Enjoy your evening my Michigan Friend.🙂
Never write a demand in a title that doesn’t have a chance of happening.
I'm not familiar with that precedent, but I have read that First Amendment freedom of the press does not grant special rights to "official" media. Rather, press freedom is a right that's enjoyed equally by all Americans, press baron and "unofficial" citizen journalist alike.
Golly!
This describes ME!!
I have NOTHING to apologize for.
Sorry, but I disagree.
