A ‘giant’ in Biblical times could have been someone 6 feet tall...............
Jerusalem Post lives tourism.
And socialism.
I always wondered how the Nephilim survived the flood.
“The Nephilim were the offspring of heavenly beings who were placed in the spiritual realm to watch over the earth in those days.”
Oh, that’s gonna trigger the “you can’t read that literally!” crowd.
Hundreds of newspaper clippings from the 1800’s detail bones dug up in the US from people that were 10 to 18 feet tall. Other newspaper accounts worldwide had the same things dug up in the past. Many describe how the bones were either sent to the Smithsonian or purchased by them after the 1850’s but amazingly the Smithsonian claims it all never happened and they have no giant bones. The bones of these people with two rows of teeth and 6 digits on hands and toes just didn’t jive with the Darwin theories that were being pushed in those days by academia so they all disappeared apparently...
Here’s an interesting travelogue about “Bashan” from a Christian who visited there in the 19th century:

I’ve done a far amount of research regarding the Nephilim. These were angels of satan who were apparently very appealing to earthly women. They were giants standing 7-9 feet and very aggressive. They mated w/human women and their offspring were the giants we read about in Samuel and other biblical books. David not only fought/killed goliath, but then by his absolute faith in God, hunted goliath’s brothers and killed them as well. Goliath was a Philistine but also a Gittite and related to Amorites (Gen. 10:14). I can’t help but feel there are similarities in the present day. Individuals believing they are giants of mankind visa vie their money, power. Jesus will take them down as well.
This will be a fun post...
I’ll wager Goliath was about 7’ tall and weighed about 320 lbs. Look at all of today’s sports or entertainment.
Methinks the Israelites exaggerated. Hey, Jewish grandmothers do it with their grandkids all the time. I know first hand.
Is it not possible that the prophet Samuel didn’t measure the corpse? Plus, Goliath ‘s head was missing.
Just asking.

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
Now sure in Numbers 13:33 the "Nephilim" are mentioned probably figuratively by some frightened spies wildly exaggerating the danger of entering the promised land. Seems rather dubious they were being literal, especially when they said that they were so big that normal people were like grasshoppers in comparison. Have to think there were really no people that big there and they weren't really Nephilim anyway.
So just not sure that Nephilim means the same as "giant".

Interesting
Article doesn't, in the first paragraph, specifically address and expand upon the bombshell cited in the title:
FAIL!
Any legitimate find would have been described in loving detail in the first paragraph - for example, thusly:
"Three perfectly preserved male femurs having lengths which, if extrapolated to the sizes of the full-size individuals, indicate heights of 2.13 meters (+/- 0.05 m), 2.21 meters (+/- 0.06 m), and 2.26 meters (+/- 0.06 m), respectively. Additionally, a female femur having a length which, if extrapolated, indicate a height of 2.01 meters (+/- 0.04 m). C-14 dating indicates an age of 10,800 years. The ratio of various calcium isotopes suggest that the individuals, in life, were indigenous to the Eastern Mediterranean region. Additional bone fragments - including an intact cranium - are consistent with these body sizes. All of the specimens have been reliably classified as belonging to the subspecies Homo sapiens sapiens."
"Just the facts, Ma'am!"
After stating the scientific facts, the article could have then gone on with the blah-blah and fluff.
Of course, such articles never do that!

Can’t they just go and buy some advertising space instead of . . .
Thanks.
