A soon-to-be-released docu-series will present a rare and researched look at one of the most perplexing Biblical topics: Nephilim (giants).
Produced by The Inspiration Networks, a faith-based family entertainment network, “Angels & Giants, The Watchers & Nephilim” presents four one-hour segments that are a serious investigation into the theories behind the Biblical giants.
Rudy Landa, a senior producer and director at The Inspiration Networks and company CEO David Cerullo decided to make the film three years ago, their enthusiasm for the subject fueled by their love of the Bible.
“The Bible describes the Nephilim in several places,” Landa said. “The main commentary of the Nephilim happens in Genesis chapter six. Most people cruise right over that passage. The Nephilim were the offspring of heavenly beings who were placed in the spiritual realm to watch over the earth in those days. They were principalities in the heavenly realm.”

I’m referring to what Jewish Torah scholars say on the subject of the measurement.
One thing about the Torah (first 5 books) and to some degree some of the other Old Testament books, is that they were copied in painstakingly accurate detail. The Jewish scribes had a system of verification as each scroll was hand copied over and over for centuries. Of all the ancient writings before the printing press (in which copies were mechanically ensured to be accurate), nothing comes close to the Torah as far as accurate copying goes. As the years go by and archaeologists would discover older copies of the scrolls, then decades later an even older copy, then an even older copy, getting closer and closer to the originals, there aren't changes.
And I believe the Word of God was divinely inspired by God.
Now, about numbers in the Bible (this is getting into a bit of Bible geekiness here LOL), I don't draw a line in the sand on numbers ending in zero. Think the least-significant-digit approach. So I'm not sure if Moses was exactly 120 years old: he might have been 119 or 122. The same with Jesus being 30 years old when He started His ministry.
Undoubtedly, you prefer the “legit” networks of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC.
I don’t know about that. There have been findings throughout the world of skeletons that are 8-12 feet in height. I have not heard of anything higher than that though. There were giant remains found on Catalina Island about 100 years ago by Ralph Glidden.
And just how tall was King Saul?
Years ago I had a book WORD KEYS WHICH UNLOCK SCRIPTURE by Duane Edward Spencer.
In it he said the Nephilim were simply “Mighty men of stature” who were great warriors and were treated by their tribes as demi-gods. Nothing really spooky or fantastic about them.
The Greeks had their own versions written up in THE ILIAD. Most likely other tribes had the same.
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
Now sure in Numbers 13:33 the "Nephilim" are mentioned probably figuratively by some frightened spies wildly exaggerating the danger of entering the promised land. Seems rather dubious they were being literal, especially when they said that they were so big that normal people were like grasshoppers in comparison. Have to think there were really no people that big there and they weren't really Nephilim anyway.
So just not sure that Nephilim means the same as "giant".
***Hundreds of newspaper clippings from the 1800’s detail bones dug up***
When those newspapers had more space than stories, they often made up fantastic tales to fill the empty spots.
A fine example is when the New York Sun published articles on finding flying men on the moon, by using a giant telescope located in South Africa.

“The Greeks had their own versions written up in THE ILIAD. Most likely other tribes had the same.”
Well, one counter to that argument is that the Greeks and other pagans also described some of these heroic figures as literal giants themselves. The “Titans”, for example in Greek mythology, or the “Jotuns” in Norse mythology. A study of comparative mythology shows that giants are one of the more common themes that pop up in myths all over the world.
1 Enoch wasn’t exactly in the Bible. 450-ft tall giants is probably one of the reasons.
Isn't that what you meant to write?

“I love the Bible, but I do not believe it is all there is. I believe when the church put the Bible together, it used only those books that could be used to keep people in subjugation to the church, hence only allowing the priesthood to read the Bible in the early days.”
So you are saying that you believe the Holy Spirit incapable of making certain that the written word of the living God is exactly what it claims itself to be?
Well, then you would be wrong...
I love the Bible, but I do not believe it is all there is.
I will let you do your own research.
But as with all things, there’s more
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC has several Greek helmets from the time of the Iliad on display, and from the look of them, Achilles must have been smaller than a modern seventh grader.
