(Vanity, sort of). Any good and pure church denomination/organizations out there?

Just a query to those more knowledgeable and savvy, about church denominations.

Actually, I mean ANY division of organized Christian religion.

I am frustrated by so many churches now, with all the nonsense of the last 2 years. Paying homage to BLM and homos and bowing down to every COVID decree.

Everyone says what was our church, Lutheran Church - MO Synod (LCMS), is good for being true. However, after the riots started I saw a bit too much virtue-signaling. The only thing I can say was the website did not seem to specify blacks and BLM, but the statement seemed to be self-concsious again about looking like social justice proponents.

So, I’m thinking of looking for other churches, which might happen to be reasonably close to us.

Modernism has infested everywhere. For a group that has stood the test of time I would recommend the SSPX, an order of traditional Catholic priests who refuse to go along with the modernist heresies proliferating within the Church since the 1960s. They recognize they are and act as missionary priest everywhere as there is no culture in the world today untouched by this latest loss of faith (and loss of reason).

They have a good youtube series under “sspx news-crisis in the Church” you can view at your leisure. They are fairly widespread with chapels and probably have one within a couple of hours of you unless you are in some of the lonelier parts of the western United States.

The Catholic Church is the True Bride of Christ. Find a traditional Catholic Church, like the SSPX (Society of St Pius X). Their priests would be willing to speak to you and answer any questions you have.

The novus ordo post-Vatican2 church is not to be trusted. You are correct about that.

In no denomination ever, are all pastors of the same mind and political leanings.

You have the ability to find a different lcms church and meet the pastor. Church is also about relationships with others in the body. I met our district president last week and thought he’d make a perfect pastor for our church if he wasn’t already where he was.

In short dont automatically blame the denomination for what may be more of a local thing. Figure out what is what, first.

That’s actually what I mentioned....one Pres church is now PCA and it all seems solid.

I don’t even see women in the leaders. Which is a good sign (honestly I dont mind the idea of women in certain positions, but if they are likely the church is liberal).

its just like the old days, Catholics always being put down and attacked....

being attacked constantly by the betterthanthous similar to the pharasees, and those who were instructed to "cast the first stone" proves one point: as a fallen, sinful, community, there must something great about it to gather so much attention and wrath from Satan and others....

They’re everywhere but kind of few and far between, https://duckduckgo.com/?q=First+Congregational+Church

I grew up 50 miles South of Boston on the coast aka Pilgrim land.

2 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of [a]Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of [b]sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

2 Thess 2:1-3

Our church is pretty conservative. We have women that speak and pray but are not in pastoral positions.

I wish you luck in finding a church that is a reasonable Bible believing church. They are around.

Oh there is plenty of disparaging of Catholicism here on FR. Seen it many times. I have a big appreciation for Catholicism though. I do not insult and berate any Christian organization. I disagree with many but do not insult and libel them. Not my intention anyway.

No denomination is perfect. All are problematic to one degree or another, if your priority is perfect adherence to God’s Word.

Each denomination is simply a reflection of those who created the denomination and the limitations they had in their understanding of the Bible.

You can freely join any denomination as a starting point, then as you are strengthened in God’s Word and come to a better understanding of the Bible, you can then leave a weaker denomination and join one that is more closely aligned with the Bible.

We aren’t wedded to denominations, per se.

Thank you. Yes. I was born, raised, and currently serve as an assistant pastor in the LCMS. As long as the LCMS holds forth the Scriptures and the Book of Concord as norms, the LCMS serves as a guiding light in a fallen world. Since Judas was counted among the twelve apostles, it stands to reason the Church will have enemies embedded in its manifestations. The primary expression of the Christian Church in this life is the local parish and its pastir(s). The lebel is by no means always accurate.

Sounds Like a Quaker Church to me. By the way I was brought up Quaker but prefer the traditional Silent Meetings.

I like the Free Presbyterian Church, however there aren't any in Maryland (a couple in Pennsylvania, and one in North Carolina, seem to be the closest to Maryland).
You can always watch the Ballymena (Northern Ireland) church on Sermon Audio, but that's not the same. Sorry - but that's all I have.

I completely appreciate devout Catholics. My grandmother was a Catholic. I have no problem with Catholics.

However, the RC church is a world power and it has given itself over to the world and is part of the Great Reset.

I do differentiate between the institution and the people. You can legitimate criticize the Church without it reflecting it upon those who are devout and faithful.

Recently moved to Roanoke VA area and have seen several Church of the Brethern buildings and such. I had no idea what they are, thanks for a brief description. I was wondering if they were a fundamentalist cult. No offense intended.

The Apostles gave him loads of opportunities to shake His head while on earth. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
