After all, Satan's bait was that Adam and Eve would become as gods. And together with Satan, that would seem to them to be at least two or possibly three gods (if Satan was believed to be a god as well) against one.
Genesis 3:6 ESV
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Sorry - no mention of 'color' or 'aroma'.
How goat-like
A good summation of what happened.
Good point! "Want" is not a very good word but I'm hard pressed to think of the right word. "Desires" also implies needs. I suppose the best I can come up with is God yearns (intense longing) to have fellowship with us.
This is rather interesting as the right word seems to be difficult to find.
'It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.'

...except for the unknown sins.
Mormonism started a LOT earlier than I thought!
Where do you come up with this nonsense? There simply was no conspiratorial plan by Adam and Eve for living the garden by themselves and do as they please (which they already could do, save for just one thing) and the enticement was clear, that of being like God, who the lying serpent said, knew would result from eating the forbidden fruit, thereby in-sin-uating that God was unjustly, selfishly preventing them from being as Him, and whose position was what the devil originally selfishly lusted after and presumed, resulting in his abasement. Which, as explained, exampled the original "Occupy movement" and "Share the wealth" demand which proxy servants of the devil use today.
Thus a speculative thread which on a basic subject, and which is foundational to the conservative culture war we are dealing with, is entirely fitting. If you reject this Biblical foundation and or do not care to read such, no one is forcing you, while those who carelessly just post the first 3 sentences to a linked article when they could post 300 words of the meat of it, including blog pimps, are the ones you could chastise, as i mildly have.
Sounds like the Mission Statement of a certain American based religion.
What is exaltation?
Exaltation is eternal life, the kind of life God lives. He lives in great glory. He is perfect. He possesses all knowledge and all wisdom. He is the Father of spirit children. He is a creator. We can become like our Heavenly Father. This is exaltation.
If we prove faithful to the Lord, we will live in the highest degree of the celestial kingdom of heaven. We will become exalted, to live with our Heavenly Father in eternal families. Exaltation is the greatest gift that Heavenly Father can give His children (see D&C 14:7).
Again, it would be God yearns for man to have fellowship with Him who needs nothing. If God needed anything He would be God. Contrary to what so many imagine, God is not described as needing man, and contrary to what anti-theists assert, God has no ego that needs man to worship Him. The command to do so is simply because worshiping a omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent constantly giving, benevolent, just yet merciful and gracious morally perfect Being is what is right and to the benefit of man, while all other gods are created and will fail and often mislead man.
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; (Acts 17:24-25)

True, and note that as representing "all that is in the world," (1 John 2:16) the woman saw that the tree was good for food" = "the lust of the flesh;" (1 John 2:16) cf. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Matthew 4:3)
"the lust of the eyes," (1 John 2:16) cf. "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." (Matthew 4:8-9)
"the pride of life," (1 John 2:16) cf. "And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone." (Matthew 4:6)
The second Adam from above, who "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin: (Hebrews 4:15) passed all 3 tests of the basic temptation man faces, thanks be to God.
the bible does not say Adam was right next to Eve.
The Bible does not say Adam had authority over all creation. Gen 1:28 subdue the earth Gen 2:15 keep the garden of Eden. You are reading more into the Bible then it says.
No, there isn't but it is logical to assume that Satan used every device to appeal to the senses. This was a big prize for him and he would stop at nothing to win it.
They didn’t like, perhaps, their subordinate position as His creatures.
As the “mother of all living” you might want to give both Eve and Adam a bit more respect. They were well aware of what was going on in the Garden and their ability to deal with it. All part of the plan from the beginning.
Yes, the liberals are following their master all right, that being the god of this world.
Makes sense. The Communist doctrine denying God, and especially the need for a Savior to rescue humanity from it’s lost and fallen state.
I once knew an old goat that owned both of those vehicles at the same time. That was the year that I had a 1981 Honda Accord.
