Salvation is a free gift of God - Have confidence you are saved!

Be convinced of these 4 biblical truths: 1. Each of us has sinned; 2. God is just, requiring a punishment for sin; 3. But out of love God sent His Son, Jesus Christ who by dying on the cross, provided forgiveness of sins in taking man’s deserved punishment; 4. Therefore, by faith alone in Christ’s sacrifice for our sins and belief in His resurrection, man can gain eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, Romans 3:21-26)

Sorry bro. I believe the sons of God, in the Old Testament, ALWAYS referred to angels, whether fallen or unfallen.

Job_1:6  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
Job_2:1  Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
Job_38:7  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Who/whatever thy were, they apparently hung around with God and Satan...

What's interesting is that there were giants in the earth in those days...And after every one died in the flood, except for Noah and his immediate family, there were still giants in the earth...(food for thought)

Perhaps, but they ain't BEGOTTEN.

There is only One of them.

True. That be Jesus. I was referring, of course, to the “sons of God,” in the plural, as in Job, and in the OLD TESTAMENT only.
And you are spot on, it’s different in the New Testament, like in John, where it says he gave them power to become sons of God, but by adoption, as in a supernatural act of creation, where as, I believe the sons of God, in the Old Testament, literally meant a direct creation of God. Adam was also a son of God, as he was a direct creation of God. I don’t know about Eve, but she was not born either. But, you are right, it’s different in the New Testament. 👍
As I said before, it could take weeks to hash this all out. We don’t have the time. 🤗

Your comment: “Why do you want to wait till you die, only to wake up in the flames 🔥 of hell? Sounds like a pretty rotten deal to me. If you want to play that game, with your immortal soul, knock yourself out. I am comfortable outside of that line of thinking. 👍 I like having assurance of salvation, even if some think we can’t. I have it. If you don’t, that’s on you bro.”

Christ and the Bible teach that we will receive our judgement by Jesus upon our death. The protestant view of this is incorrect and will lead many to perdition as Satan desires.

Your choice to reject the teachings of Jesus and assume that you will go to Heaven before your death.

Even St Paul says in 1st Corinthians 4:4 that he’s doesn’t have absolute assurance that he’s finally going to be saved because in 1st Corinthians 4:4 he says, “I’m not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted.” And then he goes on to say, “It’s the Lord who judges.” He’s leaving that act of judgment to God. He’s not aware of anything against himself, he’s not aware of mortal sin or anything like that, but he’s still not finally saved. He recognizes that. What’s the implication? It’s possible he could goof up. It’s possible he could lose his salvation.

Your comment: “I like having assurance of salvation, even if some think we can’t. I have it.” So is it a foolish belief that Satan has provided?

Christ and the Bible teach that we will receive our judgement by Jesus upon our death.

Sorry bro, but I believe that is a complete misinterpretation of the verse. Actually, I think EVERY verse you brought up, you misinterpreted. I don’t believe you got even one interpretation correct. Not even one. You may have gotten one or two correct, in other places, but certainly not in your post to me. By the way bro, why are you interpreting scripture anyway? I thought your chosen religion, required you to let a priest interpret the scriptures for you. Or, are you one of those, who doesn’t interpret scripture, you just read it, and tell me what it says? (Metmom) Is that what you think bro?
Anyway, I have assurance of salvation. Sorry if you don’t, but I fail to see where that is my problem. See you at the great white throne. You can explain your good works to Jesus there. Have a nice eternity bro. 🔥 I plan to. 👍

Possibly you're thinking of a different chapter and verse???

1Co 4:3  But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
1Co 4:4  For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified:

That's a question and a statement all in one...And the answer is, 'of course Paul is justified, and he knows it'...

but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

And Paul's already been judged by the Lord and found to be just...

He is a priest. therefore the ability to interpret Scripture and tell all of us what it means. Fortunately we don’t belong to his cult and dont have to listen to the nonsense he spews. How they can push their Roman doublespeak while ignoring the plain meaning of the passage I’ll never i is, but I’m. it a priest or a Roman so it really doesn’t matter

Many years ago, I boarded a flight from Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Chicago. I spied a catholic nun, so I figured I would take matters into my own hands. I sat down next to the nun. I introduced myself, I told her I was an air traffic controller in the Air Force. I made small talk for a few minutes. Then I just asked her flat out. Are you going to heaven when you die? She shrugged her shoulders and said, she didn’t know for sure, but she hoped to. I got an incredulous look on my face. I said, what? You don’t know? You are a religious person, and you say, you don’t know? I asked, how can you sleep at night, knowing you might end up in hell fire? 🔥 She was feeling pretty bad by then, so I figured that was enough, but I put the fear of God in her. 😁
I am an ex catholic myself, and I left the “one true church,” and I am doing fine. 👍 I hope she got saved and left the OTC, like I did. 👍

Excuse me bro, but I strenuously disagree with your concept. When I was a catholic, many years ago, I asked several priests, what is a mortal sin? One priest told me a mortal sin, was any sin of a serious nature. I thought, this priest must be clueless. I wanted to commit sins, but I wanted to stop short of committing a mortal sin. None of the priests could tell me what a mortal sin was. I liked sinning, but I wanted to avoid the big M (mortal sins) After awhile, I couldn’t resist anymore, and I was committing ten thousand mortal sins a day, even though I didn’t even know what a mortal sin was. Then, I got saved, and have assurance of salvation. Sorry if other people don’t, but that’s on them. 😁👍

In I John 2:13-14, St. John refers to the leaders of the church in Ephesus to whom he is most likely writing as “fathers” twice. And notice he gives them the title “father.”

I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning…

Notice, he does not say they are “fathers” because they are married with children. They are “fathers,” spiritually speaking. And they are presumably “on the earth.”

If a Catholic is wrong in calling his priest “father,” then everyone who refers to his own natural father as “father” is also in the wrong. Both usages would be prohibited by a literal interpretation of Jesus’ words.

Jesus came not to abolish but to fulfill the Law of the Old Covenant (Mt 5:17). If in Matthew 23:9 he literally forbids us even to acknowledge our natural fathers as our fathers, how can we keep the fourth commandment (“honor your father and your mother”)? Taken literally, Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:9 contradict his claim in Matthew 5:17, but we know that the Son of God never contradicts himself.

Why did Jesus declare that no Christian leader is to be called “rabbi” or “father”? He was telling us that no leader may set up his own interpretation of the Catholic faith and seek followers for his opinions. The role of leaders in Christ’s Church is faithfully to hand on Christ’s teaching received through the apostles (Mt 28:19). The words of the apostle Paul epitomize the essential attitude of the Christian teacher: “This is what I received from the Lord and in turn passed on to you” (1 Cor 11:23). Paul condemns in the church at Corinth “these slogans you have, like ‘I am for Paul,’ ‘I am for Apollos,’ ‘I am for Cephas’ (1 Cor 1:12).

The history of Protestantism is essentially the story of this very process—the unending proliferation of sectarian groups, saying “I am for Martin Luther” or “I am for John Calvin” or “I am for John Wesley.” The World Christian Encyclopedia (David B. Barrett, ed.; Oxford, 1982) reported that in 1980 there were 20,780 distinguishable Christian denominations in the world. Moreover, at the time the encyclopedia was published, an average of 270 new denominations were springing up each year–more than five every week. If that rate has continued, then there are over 25,000 denominations today. Every single one of these competing, contradicting denominations was formed by some person who said, in effect, “Call me ‘Master,’ call me ‘Teacher’; I will tell you what the Christian truth is!”

Incidentally, both Old and New Testaments associate priesthood with fatherhood (cf. Jgs 17:10, 18:19, and 1 Cor 4:15), but in this case, Jesus’ command is not violated. Being a simple priest is in no way turning yourself into a guru and founding your own school of thought.

At some point when protestants pray the ‘Our Father’ they should realize that when requesting ‘our daily bread’, they are praying for the Eucharist.

If they truly wish to enter Heaven, then they will accept the Catholic understanding of the Bible, instead of Satan’s lies.

Oh the protestant version of the Bible, just make it up, and pretend it is there. “And Paul’s already been judged by the Lord and found to be just...”

“I’m not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted.” And then he goes on to say, “It’s the Lord who judges.” He’s leaving that act of judgment to God.

At some point, protestants should learn not to change God’s Truth and reject the lies of Satan.

And Devil’s Tower in Wyoming might be the stump of a pre-flood tree...

Well, it DOES kinda look like one, but an actual visit there will dispel that idea.

Stump of an old volcano, with the hexagonal rock columns ascending to the sky are quite unlike the fossiled trees one finds in the Petrified Forest or Florissant, CO.

Then why the many references, in the book Rome assembled, to the Book of Life, that our names get written into BEFORE our death?

“ At some point when protestants pray the ‘Our Father’ they should realize that when requesting ‘our daily bread’, they are praying for the Eucharist.”

Absolutely false statement. We are taught to pray for our need for nourishment that day. It has nothing to do with any Eucharist.

That is made up and not in the passage.

“If they truly wish to enter Heaven, then they will accept the Catholic understanding of the Bible, instead of Satan’s lies.”

The Roman church has added paganism to what it teaches, while ignoring the one way or salvation That is satan’s lies.

If you were saved, you could see the truth, but you’ve previously indicated you do not know you are saved, which is as sad as it gets.

You are here condemning those who belong to Him - the saved - for believing His words, while rejecting those words that could lead to your own salvation.

That is foolish.

Well, there is this...

Psalm 69:28 28May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.

Exodus 32:32-33 32But now, please forgive their sin-but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written.” 33The LORD replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book
