Atheist gives his theory on the origin of the universe at the Vatican

“Before we understand science, it is natural to believe that God created the universe. But now science offers a more convincing explanation. What I meant by 'we would know the mind of God' is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God, which there isn't. I'm an atheist.”

— Stephen Hawking —

Surprise! Surprise! God doesn’t matter!

What’s an atheist doing speaking at the Vatican?

Stephen Hawking thinks he can know everything.

It is a self deception. We are limited creatures. It is impossible for us to know everything.

If he had integrity, he would acknowledge the potential of creatures who are less limited than we are.

a big big problem Atheists have is explaining where everything, including ...alas...Atheists, came from

the Big Bang theory is not only difficult to believe, but it is far far MORE difficult to believe than a God-creator

ALSO, IF we derived from a Big Bang, that theory STILL would not explain why there was a Big Bang.....in other words, the theory would explain WHAT happened but not WHY or for what purpose it occurred.......................
God might have used a Big Bang to create us, that is possible yes.....................but a Big Bang out of pure nothing and with nobody.noGod to cause or create or design or create it? that is far less believeable than God using a Big Bang (or some other method) to create us

Atheism falls down dead because it demands we believe in things far less likely, probable, credible, imaginable... than belief in God

“Stephen Hawking thinks he can know everything.”

Well, he vacillates back and forth in his belief of God. He said in an earlier time that he believed in a higher being because science couldn’t explain the other side of the Big Bang.

And yet somehow the entire universe was compressed in to an infinitesimally small space. We know because computer models say so. The debate is over.

The big bang theory requires just as much faith as does God’s creation. The difference in the scientists like Hawking believe themselves to be the gods of this life. There are so many who’s arrogance will not allow them to admit that there is something they don’t know.

… if we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason – for then we would know the mind of God.” ― Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time

Science keeps on finding the intermediate steps between God and experience. But God is still behind it all.

Stephen Hawking: “I’m an atheist.” Cool. That’s what he might have said this week.

I admire Stephen Hawking and enjoy his books. He regularly writes about how God could have created the universe recently to make it look as though it appears 5,000 or 20,000 million years old. Interesting stuff.

Hawking visited JP II once or twice a year and always enjoyed the teasing. JP II: “You might be joining the Church soon.” SH: “You might be out of a job soon.”

Scientist: In the beginning, there was nothing but then for some reason, absolutely nothing decided to explode into something.

Religion: In the beginning, there was nothing, but then the hand of God created something out of nothing.

Scientists feel nothing can create something and God is not necessary. . .and scientists are supposed to be into logic and fact?

Actually, IMO, the big bang is very compatible with the Bible. It’s just that the atheists can’t explain where the big bang came from and we can.

God, in His no-boundaries proposal: “Hawking doesn’t matter.”

Ah, but he does matter to God. 2 Peter 3:9 says that God wants no one to perish, but all to repent. That includes Stephen Hawking, and many others we'd be tempted to write off.

So how exactly does science explain the universe and all that is in it? How does science explain how life came from non-life? Saying that there was a Big Bang doesn’t explain what caused it. What is the convincing explanation Hawking claims?

Actually the big bang in itself does not negate there being a God, for what created the big bang? That, they cannot explain, other than it just happened. If the Universe was created from the big bang as theorized, then what existed prior to the big bang, nothing? How can something be created out of nothing unless it was by intelligent design? No, while there may be truth to the big bang it still leaves a lot unanswered. As is so often the case with liberals, atheists just want to accept what they want and refuse to even entertain conflicting arguments that do not adhere to their thinking. They assume they have all the answers, yet they ignore the outstanding questions that remain to which they have no answer.
