“a wicked prince is the Lords scourge to punish the sins of the people” — John Calvin
God would like to bless us with good leaders. But I’m not sure we deserve such a blessing. We will soon see if God will let the wicked rule over us for a longer time or not.
Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
I doubt he likes Satan worship and Spirit cooking.
You wrote this because of despair, because you are surrounded by California evil.
At least understand that.
I am thinking, contrary to Old Testament that God sees us as individuals and does neither collective reward or punishment. Each of us, I believe, will be judged on our deeds, our thoughts, what I say each Sunday, what I have done and what I have failed to do. Jesus said IIRC “ MY kingdom is not of this Earth.” And no, I don’t believe in Divine Right of a President Trump or whoever any more than a Divine Right of a Louis XIV
God will always use people for His Will.
Voting for sick, demented, and diabolical abortionists will have it’s consequences.
Psalm 37:1-2
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Proverbs 3:31-32
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
And specifically for Hillary voters:
Isaiah 41:24
Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.
Yes According to, just for one, the bishop of the Long Island, that’s New York, diocese, the candidate who will bring our country deeper into the evil mire of abortion is not to be voted for by anyone interested in gaining heaven
My sister writes to me that the bishops of Pennsylvania issued a four-page insert for the Sunday bulletin that says nothing that needed to be said about voting.
Archbishop Chaput said it is “blasphemous” to say that God prefers one party over another. This is idiotic, when one party is in favor of ripping babies to pieces and sucking out their brains.
God is always merciful and if enough people are on their knees praying for mercy and a chance to repent, God will grant us additional mercy. The question is, are people just fed up with their personal misfortunes caused by godless globalists or do they understand that we've fallen so far because we've abandoned God?
IMHo, Billy Graham was right, either this nation has to be punished or He owes Sodom an apology and that was long before we had the blood of sixty million innocent infants on our hands. But then, I'm an optimist, when someone says, "it can't get any worse", I reply, "Oh yes it can".
JMHo
In the book of kings, God warned about putting men in charge of men. The people did not heed the advice and got themselves a king.
With that in mind, God would have no candidate preference.
He may however say “I told you so!”
God will give us the leaders we deserve as a nation. If he wants to punish us, we get an Obama or a Hillary.
This is what allowed me to justify Obama’s last win when that freak Hurricane came up right before the election and allowed him to look presidential. The fat bozo Christy hugging him on the beach didn’t help much.
We got the bad leader that God wanted us to have. Hopefully, he will have mercy on us during this election.
God doesn’t have a preference...
He has a decision.
I think God has preferences and opinions about everything we do.
He has a perfect will, and a permissive will. He lets us make bad decisions. Can you imagine if He interrupted us everytime we were going to make a bad decision? Some people couldnt go two seconds without getting stopped.
Thats why it all gets sorted out in the end.
When God removed Ahab and Jezebel from power, judgement fell on the whole country because... the whole country was complicit.
Before, we could pretend not to know their crimes. We can’t pretend to not know them anymore. If knowing, we elect them anyway, judgement falls on the country as a whole.
And us, who do not support them? Pray, be where God puts you, and be the anchor that holds your family together.
I know what my parish priest preference is and it ain’t Jezebel (his pet name for her)
I live in a blue state and recognize that my vote will amount to squat, but I’m voting for Trump anyway.
Our pastor preached the exact same message today although he didn’t name names.
For that matter, I’ll bet a LOT of churches heard the same message.
While I can’t say for sure if God is FOR any specific candidate, I would hazard a guess that He’s AGAINST anyone who is against Him.

In fact, the word often translated “authorities” or “powers” in verse 1 is not the equivalent of the State. The meaning, according to Thayers and Vines, is firstly the “liberty, the power to do as one pleases,” which a person has over their person, property or domain. It might even be translated “Everyone respect primary rights and liberties ” In 1 Cor 8:9 it is translated “this liberty of yours.”
Also, the word often translated “rulers” in verse 3 is not the direct equivalent of State officials. It is used elsewhere in the Bible to denote “rulers” of a synagogue, judges, elders anyone in charge of a social function. The Bible even refers to a “ruler of the feast” and a “governor of the feast.”
