I went to the polls yesterday, casting an early vote against Hillary Clinton. It really was little more than a symbolic vote inasmuch as I reside in California, where Madam Clinton enjoys a 20-point lead, according to a Field Poll released last week.
Indeed, if the Whore of Babylon herself was the Democrat Partys presidential nominee, shed very likely win the not-so-Golden States 55 electoral votes on Tuesday.
That is why this Christ follower trembles for his country, in the words of Thomas Jefferson. Because I believe a Hillary Clinton presidency will move America even further away from God than it is today.
Though Madam Clinton is a professed Methodist, her views are in opposition to the United Methodist Church.
For instance, she thinks homosexuality acceptable in the eyes of God. Yet, the United Methodist Church declares: The practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching. She also thinks the Almighty is okay with abortion. But the United Methodist Church disapproves of abortion because of its belief in the sanctity of unborn human life.
Little wonder, then, that 43 percent of Americans perceive that Madam Clinton is not truly religious, according to a January 2016 Pew Poll. It was avowed Christians like her that the Book of James admonished: Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
So how should Christ followers respond if, heaven forbid, Hillary Clinton is elected president on Tuesday? What does God expect of those of us who are doers of the word, and not hearers only?
We should accept that Madam Clinton is our new commander-in-chief.
Indeed, Romans 13:1-2 declares, unequivocally:
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
Thats not to say that Christ followers must submit to government dictates that clearly contravene Gods law. No, in such cases, we are to stand up for our faith.
Like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego the three Hebrew men who, according to the book of Daniel, refused to bow down before the image of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. The king threw them in a fiery furnace, but God miraculously delivered them from harm.
As it happened, Nebuchadnezzar later heard a voice from heaven, which told the Babylonian king what was decreed for him: His royal authority was taken from him. He was driven insane to the point that he was as a wild animal, eating grass like an ox.
Only after the passage of time did he sufficiently recover his sanity to acknowledge that the Most High was sovereign over all kingdoms on earth, giving them to whomsoever He wished.
Well, I do not know to whom God, in His perfect wisdom, has chosen to be the next president of the United States.
I pray that its not Hillary Clinton. But, if it is, this Christ follower is going to trust in the Lord who is infallible and lean not on my own understanding.
We have to do our part.
I know what my parish priest preference is and it ain’t Jezebel (his pet name for her)
I live in a blue state and recognize that my vote will amount to squat, but I’m voting for Trump anyway.
Our pastor preached the exact same message today although he didn’t name names.
For that matter, I’ll bet a LOT of churches heard the same message.
While I can’t say for sure if God is FOR any specific candidate, I would hazard a guess that He’s AGAINST anyone who is against Him.
Same here.
I'm trying as well.
I would LOVE to see NY go to Trump.
I've certainly encountered far more people than I expected who are planning on voting for him.
Their hatred of Hillary is far outweighing their dislike of Trump.

In fact, the word often translated “authorities” or “powers” in verse 1 is not the equivalent of the State. The meaning, according to Thayers and Vines, is firstly the “liberty, the power to do as one pleases,” which a person has over their person, property or domain. It might even be translated “Everyone respect primary rights and liberties ” In 1 Cor 8:9 it is translated “this liberty of yours.”
Also, the word often translated “rulers” in verse 3 is not the direct equivalent of State officials. It is used elsewhere in the Bible to denote “rulers” of a synagogue, judges, elders anyone in charge of a social function. The Bible even refers to a “ruler of the feast” and a “governor of the feast.”
Hope you’re right.

It’s NYC we need to overcome. >:(
Yes, righteousness, but it is our job to perform the actions to achieve it!
Hillary is America’s Jezebel. I will not acc5ept her if she wins .
Very interesting take on Romans 13.
Of course he does.
Rain in Fla keeps Hillary show short
Rain on Election Day in Cleveland
Philly transit strike
Comey being on and then off again gave the damage that got Wikileaks Mainstream.
Yea he is on our side and why wouldn’t he be?
The whore of Babylon is the dem nominee.
Yesterday, Tampa, where Trump was, had sunny weather, Hillary got rained on...the only part of the state that had rain... :-). So yes, God wants Trump!
Blessings to this young priest.
Agreed. God has no preference. There is government and there is God. The purpose of government is to provide a secure and protected environment in which we can live and complete our mission to God. Our purpose as Christians is to praise God and bring others to Christ. Should our government become evil, that is on the citizens, not God. Should the government become anti-Christian, it will not deter us from fulfilling our promise to God. We will simply move from churches (if outlawed or made unusable) into homes and other secreted places to continue our work.
