How do you square your Christian faith with hatred of Muslims? (VANITY)

As one looks at the articles and comments found on Free Republic, you can see the complete and utter loathing, disgust, and outright hatred towards Muslims. It is viewed as a justified hatred, built on the actions Muslims have taken for decades against Americans and others. Notable attacks include the Beirut bombing of the Marine barracks, Beslan in Russia, the recent San Bernadino attack, and of course 9/11.

However, I was challenged by a few friends recently as to how a professing Christian can have a deep-seated hatred for Muslims. They reminded me of Jesus' command to love one another. They pointed out that He wasn't just talking about Christians loving other Christians (which can be difficult sometimes), but about Christians loving people in their communities...even those one may count as an enemy.

It's been pointed out to me that Christ's death on the cross wasn't just for me...it was also for the Muslim. He wants them to come to know Him as their Savior just as much as He wants us...or me...to. The problem they see is that someone won't want to come to know Christ if those who say they're His followers are in your face telling you that they hate you.

When I point out to them about the danger that Muslims have time and time again posed to society, they argue that Jesus didn't care if they were dangerous- He wanted His followers to love them, And, if that love had an element of risk associated with it, His followers were to love them anyway. A reminder of what that looks like can be seen in the story of the Christian men who ended up martyred by the Auca tribe in South America.

In any case, what they said is making me think. I want to know how one can reconcile a hatred for Muslims with Jesus' command to love people. It does seem that you can't do one and do the other as well. Yes...I am aware I may very well be opening up a huge can of worms, but this has been bugging me and I wanted to discuss it with my fellow FReepers.

Liberal “logic” is unanswerable. Any disagreement about life choices equals hate.

If I believe something is harmful and leads to danger, violence and death and permanent separation from God .. such as homosexuality or islam, there is no way I can express it without being called a hater.

It is as if I said, “Children should not play with poisonous snakes.”

Liberal response: “Why do you hate children!”

God calls some people to minister to gang members, to prisoners, to people of other nations who do not know him.

“Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

We have the right and sometimes the duty to risk our own lives, but not the right and the duty to risk the lives of our family and our neighbors in a holy mission. The men you mentioned knew that visiting the tribe was very dangerous and left their families in safety.

I pray for the Muslims, that the victims of war be protected, and that they all may know God through his Son Jesus. But James writes you can’t just pray for someone and not do anything. And that would be where prudence in world leaders comes in, to protect the victims, and protect the people of their own nations, to whom they have the primary duty.

Hate the sin love the sinner.

I view radical Muslims like cockroaches. Roaches disgust me, need to be eradicated but I don't really hate them, they are unworthy of the emotion.

Are you going to reply to the many posts on this thread that you started or was this simply a bait post?

The same way I can square my Christian faith with hating any other group of mass murdering bunch of kooks.

Am I sad for the fact that they have chosen a road that is going to end up with them in hell? Yes.

Will I, when given the opportunity, try to show them a better way? Yes.

Will that stop me from saying mohammedanism must be destroyed? No.

If I fail as a Christian in my loathing of muslimes, I will be judged by the Almighty for my lapse. In the meantime, I live in a world where evil men plot to randomly kill innocent people, which makes me and my loved ones potential targets. By eliminating the threat, I can better protect them and any other potential victims.

I could vanquish that threat by literally murdering muslimes, and I might even be able to get rid of a few before the authorities caught up with me and killed me, which would then leave my family unprotected. So I act by pointing out the sheer treachery, savagery, and incomaptibility with civilization that constitutes islime, hoping that that will awaken in others a hostility that will drive these animals from our midst.

In this, as in so many other cases, it’s very possible that the pen is mightier than the sword. Which is not to say you shouldn’t keep your sword sharp.

We support some missionaries who deal almost exclusively with muslims. They give them Gospel literature and information while they are waiting in customs to return to their home countries from Europe.

They’ve been at it for 10-15 years and have had great success. I praise God for their ministry.

That said, if they profess a desire to harm me or my family, I’ll do my best to assure that I win the battle.

I’ve got a friend who lives in Dearbornistan. He’s been the frog in the hot water so long, he’s adopted a Dhimmi attitude. The other day he said “nothing’s ever happened to me.”

The fact is that I don’t expect any sort of serious attack from Dearborn. The muslim population density is too high. Hamas and Hezbollah are heavily financed by Muslims living in that area. They wouldn’t be wise to kill their bankroll.

I bet he doesn’t say a word.

I bet he was trolling for some sort of “hate speech” response and he’s utterly despondent that he didn’t get any.

God hated Ba'al, who is Allah...

If you get a chance please share where that came from.  My search at this site had "Baal" many places in the Bible but the closest we can come to "Allah" is "Eloi" (pronounced "eh LAW" --it's how Jesus (that's Greek for Joshua in Hebrew) prayed in the Aramaic language to God:

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

It’s not hate...it’s self-preservation.

Think about what life would be like if Adam & Eve had not trusted the snake in the garden.

Wanting to protect one and one's loved ones from a murderous enemy doesn't equate to hate. That's accepting the PC meme that anyone who disagrees with the liberal point of view is a misanthropic racist.

Loving one another as children of God doesn't mean baring your throat for those that want nothing more than to slit it.

Better question is how do Christians that use FR and claim Christian/Conservative principles square their Christian belief and Conservative claims with lack of support of FR? There are plenty out there espousing Christian/Conservative principles then FReeloading off others.

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

I would also point out that it is possible to sin through inaction. Sitting idly by and watching evil destroy the world is hardly grounds for sainthood.

I suspect God will judge us as much for what we DIDN’T do to STOP evil as for what we did to advance it.

When I point out to them about the danger that Muslims have time and time again posed to society, they argue that Jesus didn’t care if they were dangerous- He wanted His followers to love them...

That’s why Jesus told the apostles to abandon any town that rejected their teachings and works, and shake the dirt off their feet on the way out. Because He did not “judge.” /s/

And you forgot to mention the genocide Isis just committed against Christians in Iraq and Syria and the mass murder and burning of churches in Egypt when the Muslim Brotherhood got power. How could you so quickly forget that? Is your heart made of stone? Did you forget that Obama is naming the Muslims refugees but abandoning the Christians in Syria and Iraq?

Rejecting evil people does not mean “hate.” It means standing up to bullies who commit genocide, enslave, rape, mutilate and torture people. Christians stood up to slavery because we hated it. We stand up to abortionists because we hate the murder of innocent life. We stand up to Muslims because we hate what they do with their evil, intolerant supremacist mentality and abusive power. Look at Saudi Arabia or Iran. You want Islam getting power here via invasion? You call that love?

Are you judging the people who reject all that? Are you a hater? I know the latest fad in Christianity is the false mantra “don’t judge” - “love everyone.” That is not the way our God is. He knows good from evil and He expects us to know that, too. By it’s works, throughout history, Islam is evil. Pretending otherwise - that Islam is the religion of peace - is a lie. Moral relativity is a lie, too.

Salvation comes to those who repent.

Look to the parables that Jesus told. Look to the story of the man who climbed the tree and wanted to follow Christ. What was he told?

There is a difference between the sin of hatred and the anger of God.

For many years I could not forgive my earthly father. In fact, I hated him for quite a lot of things. One day I finally confessed this sin to my priest. This is what he instructed me to do for my penance:

Pray the Our Father daily. This prayer is the very words of Christ and when you get to the part about, “forgive us our tresspassed as we forgive those who tresspass against us,” think of your earthly father. And never forget the thief on the cross who was forgiven and neverforget the last act of earthly forgiveness Christ gave us,even unto the Rpmans and Jews who crucified him. “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

God’s wrath and hatred for their unrepentant hearts is what the Judgement is for. Our calling is to offer them every opportunity to find that forgiveness and grace.

Right on. When you strip away the sleazy, back-slapping “peace be upon him” nonsense, Islam is revealed to be profoundly antichrist. That “liar and the father of lies” (Satan) has his prints all over the death cult.

The Father has made provision for Muslims to be saved: His Son. Their arrogant unbelief is their undoing. Life teaches us through consequences. They refuse to learn in spite of the overwhelming evidence they are of The Lie (you shall be as God, knowing good and evil). “A fool keeps going and suffers for it”—Proverbs

What kind of fool could imagine the Father casting aside our great God and savior Jesus Christ for a creep like Muhammed? It makes NO sense. And it did not ever happen. Islam is Satan’s invention, and it’s “prophet” was a child of his.

Many times in the OT God commanded that entire peoples be wiped out to protect His children Israel. Did He not love those people? Of course HE did. But He also knew that they had been infected with a plague for which there was no cure. They turned away from Him and chose to follow demons.

We have that very same thing in action today with islam. Moslems are commanded to lie by their scriptures if they can gain advantage by it. Who is the father of lies? So who do moslems worship?

Unfortunately because of this command to lie, no moslems can ever be trusted, ever. Even if they claim to have been saved they cannot be trusted (until the Holy Spirit Himself witnesses for them). In order to protect the innocents of the world we have no other option but to remove the plague.

I have a met a few moslems who were actually pretty nice people (aside form the fact that they were commanded to kill me and my children). But that does not make them safe to be around.

Do I hate moslems? No. Do you hate a rabid dog? No. You just do whatever needs to be done to protect yourself and your loved ones (and other innocents) from the actions of that dog. You may love the dog (old yeller) but you still have to destroy it.

By their actions (and the commands of their scriptures)moslems have lowered themselves to dog status.
