SAN DIEGO -- A five-year old girl is at the center of a fight that pits freedom of religion against nondiscrimination rights.
It's a fight that some say could wind up in the U.S. Supreme Court in the near future.
"I love my two moms."
Those were the words of a little girl, who sat in front of a coffee table drawing pictures of her family instead of sitting in a kindergarten classroom at Mt. Erie Christian Academy with her peers.

Team 10 reached out to the ACLU, the LGBT Center and San Diego Pride. None of the groups were willing to speak on the topic. An administrator at Pride said, "It is what it is."
San Diego attorney Eugene Iredale said the First Amendment gives Mt. Erie freedom of religion, allowing it to bar a student whose parents' lifestyle doesn't meet their religious beliefs.
"Religions and religious institutions, that do not in their activity receive public money, have the right to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation if that is part of their religious tradition," Iredale said.

I was so confused. I thought there was another San Diego I wasn’t aware of; then I read it was a Christian school in San Diego which is almost as hard to believe as a second San Diego.
Good for this school/church. Someone who takes their faith seriously.
that kid a screwed — forever. she is in for a lifetime of therapy, substance abuse, emotional instability, and likely an untimely demise.
all because two women felt left behind by the laws of biology.
Another spontaneous incident which took a year for everyone on the Left to properly set-up.
The homosexual supremacists are on the march!
I might have invited the “stay at home” mom in for a conversation and told her that if the little girl stayed there she would receive regular religious training including instruction on the Theology of the Body, God intended men and women to be together not woman and woman. Discussions would be had about her biological father who is out there somewhere. If “mom” still wanted her there then she would have to sign something saying that she was okay with this course of study.
this “couple” is a twofer.
Like these two "moms" really wanted their kid studying the bible at a Christian school.
No, because they put their own sin in front of the God of the Bile. Just a moot point.
What has the kid to do with it? It’s the parents not the child.
Totally agree. All of this is orchestrated.
Gee whiz do you suppose that a Christian Academy might have something to say about proper Christian upbringing? These women are after publicity, they could care less what this does to their child.
I thought you were describing democrats in general.
The lesbian bullies behind this lawsuit are just like the ones suing Christian bakers, Christian photographers, and Christian florists. They don’t actually want people who despise them to participate in their lives. They just want the feeling of power that comes with knowing they can force innocent Americans to obey their demands in violation of deeply-held religious beliefs. The women filing this lawsuit are shockingly evil.
As for the daughter, I wish the school had taken her. It might have been her chance at a normal life with positive values. I disagree with the school decision not to accept the child living with these two thuggish perverts just because her mother and her mother’s roommate have serious issues.
Let her continue to go to school there. Just teach her all about the sin her “two mommies” are living in ... wouldn’t take long for her mommies to yank her from that school.
So, from the get go....because she's likely seeing affection between the two so called mommies, the kids all screwed up to start with....and it will only get worse. There is no "better" in this child's future. There is no escape.
The kid’s 5.She’s done nothing wrong. She is,in fact, the victim of filthy abuse by two perverts who masquerade as respectable “parents”.
They won’t stop even after they’ve forced priests to perform abortions.
That’s basically how my kids’ Christian school handles it.
When the kids get older, they cannot take a member of the same sex to dances. They cannot publicly be in a same sex relationship.
They have to take Bible classes and go to chapel.
If they kept the child in the school, how long do you think it would be before the two lesbians sued the school for teaching the daughter that their lifestyle was sinful and causing them emotional distress, or for preventing them from attending a school function as a couple, or some other event that insulted and offended them?
The school is wise to resolve the situation now - any lawsuit filed will be tossed immediately, especially since the school's handbook, which they lesbians had to sign, specifically stated that the school had the right to refuse to enroll any student or discontinue the enrollment of any student for whom the "atmosphere or conduct within a particular home is counter to or in opposition to the biblical lifestyle that the school teaches", specifically including homosexuality or an "alternative lifestyle."
