And how was this mistranslated/taken out of context?

Truth is truth. The fact that Frances thinks the gender of the person speaking it is important is very troubling.

Frank was recently given a gift of two donkeys as a Christmas gift.

One of the donkeys was heard to say to the other, "Hey, he's one of us!"

I fail to see any issue with what he is saying. Recognizing that women are women and men are men? What;s wrong with that? Recognizing that women can and do contribute to theology? I see nothing wrong with that. But it's Catholic and it's Pope Francis, so it must be bad!

Hey Gamecock.... BOO!

Yeah, on a ginger cake. Superfluous and unnecessary. Two flavors attempting to dominate each other. That’s what’s wrong with modern churches.

No doubt there are capable and insightful female theologians. The idea that there is a particular "female genius" which grasps truths about the Creator that elude men, strikes me as ideological contamination. A "sign of the times" indeed.

As if men needed women to be looking over their shoulders to make sure they get it all right. Humbug.

“He is a heretic who does not believe what the Roman Hierarchy teaches.” — The American Textbook of Popery, p 164 (quoting from the “Directory for the Inquisitors”).

“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” — Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, “Cities Petrus Bertanous.”

“We hold upon this earth the place of God almighty.” — Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894.

“Even if the Pope were Satan incarnate, we ought not to raise up our heads against him, but calmly lie down to rest on his bosom. He who rebels against our Father is condemned to death, for that which we do to him we do to Christ: we honor Christ if we honor the Pope; we dishonor Christ if we dishonor the Pope. I know very well that many defend themselves by boasting: “They are so corrupt, and work all manner of evil!” But God has commanded that, even if the priests, the pastors, and Christ-on-earth were incarnate devils, we be obedient and subject to them, not for their sakes, but for the sake of God, and out of obedience to Him.” — St. Catherine of Siena, SCS, p. 201-202, p. 222, (quoted in Apostolic Digest, by Michael Malone, Book 5: “The Book of Obedience”, Chapter 1: “There is No Salvation Without Personal Submission to the Pope”).

It appears that Catholics should be cautious about bashing this pope.

Beware church, lest the majority of your high learned teachers and theologians miss His 2nd coming. Just like most of same missed His 1st; teaching traditions of men over the full word of YHVH.

Infamous quotes:

“Let them eat cake and strawberries.”

“They want to have their cake and eat their strawberries, too.”

At least he didn’t say they are the cherry on top of the whipped cream.

I won’t even venture to speculate about crushed nuts.
