Ill call him Fr. John. He was a charismatic Anglo Catholic priest.
A friend of my brother Daryls well call Henry died suddenly in a plane crash and he was upset because although Henry was a believer he was away from God when he died.
So Fr. John said, We have to have a requiem Mass for Henry.
They went into church and locked the door for privacys sake. Another priest well call Fr. George celebrated the Mass.
Henry was about twenty years old. He was just over five foot tall with a shock of blonde hair and a wide face with freckles.

Sure is.
Nothing sets people off like religion. No one can wonder why there are some 30,000-40,000 different Protestant denominations. (Google, by Protestant count). People can't seem to agree on something so basic as FAITH.
Oh well, at least they believe. Our good Lord sorts it all out in the end, doesn't He?
As evidenced by the scriptures below, if we do not replace the demons that possess us with the Holy Spirit, we are subject to them returning 7 fold. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit there is no room for evil spirits.
Luke 11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
And it will cause some people to scream at others in super, mega sized bold faced print.
Religion sets people off because there is no ‘getting it right’. There’s always one more rule or ritual you’re called to or you broke. It’s never enough as it is tied to works and that is what damns us.
It is about a relationship, not religion. Relationship with Jesus Christ, the one true, real, personal God. Once you’ve accepted Him you are His.
Cloudmountain....do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? I’m asking out of concern not judgement.
LOL!
Well said.
“Cynical Bear has some pictures.”
And?
“They sure do go through lot of hoopla to declare only some saints if they are all saints anyway.”
Whether you think it’s hoopla or not, you still didn’t know about saints being saints according to the Church. I’ve seen you attack the Catholic faith for years at FR and you don’t seem to know the most basic things about the Catholic faith.
“Call it what you will but it’s really quite grotesque.”
God works through the “grotesque” (2 Kings 13:21) and even things some might find silly (Acts 19:12).
This is N OTHING!
I've heard about 3 Portuguese children who could see the LIVING!
Last night, I saw upon the stair;
a little man that wasn’t there.
He wasn’t there again today.
Oh how I wish he’d go away.
And they were voting for Democrats.
Last night, I saw upon the stair;
a little man that wasn’t there.
He wasn’t there again today.
Oh how I wish he’d go away.
I’ve a friend who works in a mortuary.
Guess what...
Was mistletoe involved?
But you DO believe that 'psychic gifts' are FROM God??
Basically it includes paganism making it a pagan organization and contrary to God's word. Basically it teaches "another gospel" contrary to what the apostles taught. Basically it could well be the whore of Babylon as some believe.
They've been posted about fairly frequently here. Personally, I find them on some level intriguing and would like to accept them, it's very comforting to believe that my loved ones who have passed on were greeted with love and warmth. On the other hand, several published accounts describe things that are clearly not Christian.
Therefore, no matter how comforting the notion might be to me personally, I have doubts concerning the nature of these so-called near death experiences, and tend to place them into possibly being at least in part hallucinatory. Yes, I'm aware of those accounts accurately describing circumstances after clinical death, even objects in the room not visible to the patient. It's difficult to reject completely out of hand due to this.
An entire recollection does not have to be true because part of it is, nor does it have to be entirely false because part of it is. That's as far as I'll go on the matter as a Christian.
