One has to have a deep faith to be an atheist.
What is the solution?
What would happen if all the teachers in the county schools simply refused to give up morning prayer? The school board would not fire all of them, and in any case the teacher’s union would not allow such a mass firing to happen. Perhaps this is the place to draw the red line and tell the atheists to (hopefully only metaphorically) go to hell.
Ask them to do the same with Islam.
Yes, that’s the problem with our country, too much prayer.
**anonymous parent**
God knows and this parent is not anonymous to him. The parent will be dealt with by God.
As will the organization banning the prayer.
I can hardly wait till they try this with Islam,
it should be good for a laugh or two.
Ignore them and start each day quoting historical prayers by the Founders and those by notable early chaplains.
If this is deemed as state sanctioned religion or one over another, then they must provide such by Muslims or atheists.
This would require a moment of silence.
Frankly, I don’t care for prayers in public school.
Either it is the teachers denominational perspective that comes out or some watered down nonsense approved of by a committee that means nothing.
Do Catholics want their kids lead in prayer by Mormons? Or do evangelicals want a Catholic prayer? It goes on and on .
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Or else... what?
