The One true God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. "I am the Lord, and there is no other, apart from me there is no God." (Isaiah 45:5) In other words, the "Jewish God" is the only God that exists. All the other "gods" among the various religions do not actually rule the universe. In fact, they exist only in the minds of those who seek to obey them and earn their favor.
Jewish people know all about seeking to obey God. Moses was given the Law so that God's people would know what God expected of them. But Jews have the same problem we all experience. As hard as we try to be obedient to all of the rules, we still find ourselves falling short of perfection. We miss the mark. Our behavior, and even our thoughts, are imperfect and out of alignment with the Law.
Under the Old Covenant, God's people could rely upon animal sacrifices to help ease their conscience in this regard. Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is still the holiest day of the year for Jewish people. Deep down, we all know that we need something to atone for our sins.
Believe it or not, the Law can actually help us discover the answer to our sin problem. The Law was put in charge to lead us to the Messiah. (see Galatians 3:24) It points us to the One who delivers us even though we have sinned against God. The Law reveals to us that we are lawbreakers. As hard as we try to obey the Law, we still do not keep it the way God requires. So we must have His Messiah if we are going to be delivered from our sin and our shame.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob placed prophecies in Scripture to tell us about the coming Deliverer. These messianic prophecies were actually fulfilled many years ago by a Jewish man named Yeshua. That is His Hebrew name. In English, His name is Jesus. The messianic details in Scripture are explained beautifully by Jews at "Chosen People Ministries."
The seven prophecies listed below come directly from their website. These fulfilled prophecies are a big reason many "Messianic Jews" refer to themselves as "completed Jews," since their faith in the God of Israel has been "completed," or fulfilled in Yeshua.
Each prophecy is about "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29) Animal sacrifices under the Old Covenant were incredibly weak when compared to the sacrifice of this perfect Jewish Lamb. Yeshua ushered in the New Covenant for the Jews, and He even came for Gentiles too. You see, Good Friday was the ultimate "once for all" Day of Atonement. The benefits of that one-time sacrifice are received by Jews and Gentiles who accept Yeshua into their heart and life. (see Romans 6:10, Hebrews 5:9, Hebrews 7:27, Hebrews 9:26, Hebrews 10:1-10)
May the Lord bless you my friend as you consider these prophecies which Yeshua fulfilled.
Prophecy #1: The Origin & Birthplace of the Messiah
Micah 5:2 (5:1 in the Jewish Bible) - "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting."
Fulfillment:
Matthew 2:1 - "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem..."
Prophecy #2: A Descendant of Abraham
Genesis 12:1-3 - "Now the LORD had said to Abram: 'Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'"
Fulfillment:
Matthew 1:1 - "The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the son of Abraham."
Prophecy #3: From the House of David
2 Samuel 7:12-13 - "When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever."
Fulfillment:
Luke 3:31 - "...the son of Melea, the son of Menan, the son of Mattathah, the son of Nathan, the son of David."
Prophecy #4: Born of a Virgin
Isaiah 7:14 - "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."
Fulfillment:
Matthew 1:18, 22-23 - "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 'Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,' which is translated, 'God with us.'"
Prophecy #5: God in the Flesh
Isaiah 9:6-7 (9:5-6 in the Jewish Bible) - "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
Fulfillment:
Matthew 1:1 - "The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham."
John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
Prophecy #6: The Humility of Messiah
Zechariah 9:9 - "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey."
Fulfillment:
John 12:12-14 - "...a great multitude...when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: 'Hosanna! "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" The King of Israel!' Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written."
Prophecy #7: The Suffering Servant
Isaiah 53 - When he reads this passage, your Jewish friend might think that he is reading from the New Testament. He may be surprised to see this in his own Bible!
Fulfillment:
John 1:1; Matthew 8:16-17; 26:62-63; 27:12-14, 38, 57-60; Mark 15:27-28; Luke 23:33; Romans 4:25; 1 Corinthians 15:3
These fulfilled prophecies could only have come about by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God has always dearly loved the Jewish people. After all, they are His chosen ones. "Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the Law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen." (Romans 9:4,5)
The good news about Yeshua is "first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." (Romans 1:16) If anyone can be said to have a "right" to the fulfilled prophecies, it is the Jews. It is their "birthright" so to speak. Those who come to the Father through Yeshua, the Son, are granted forgiveness of sins and eternal life in heaven. The Law is good, but "if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" (Galatians 2:21)
Today, there are hundreds of thousands of Messianic Jews in the United States alone. Estimates range from 200,000 all the way up to 1.2 million. These believers have discovered what Yeshua has done for them as prophesied in Isaiah 53. That amazing prophecy has been fulfilled "first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."
Yeshua loves you with an everlasting love. He invites you to come to Him and believe. While many Jews and Gentiles are receiving the benefits of the Messiah from the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, what about you? Will you approach the Lord today and receive those benefits which come through faith in Yeshua?
The angels in heaven will rejoice if you take that step of faith. And more importantly, your Lord will be thrilled to welcome you home. You may find yourself today in a spiritual wilderness of sorts. God has prepared the way for you to be delivered. Will you complete the journey with the One who is a descendant of Abraham, and who came from the house of David?
And please remember. Jews who accept Yeshua are completely Jewish. That is the way the "Jewish God" designed it. He is the only God, and Yeshua is the only Messiah the Jews will ever be given.

Not according to the Pharises:
Mark 2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
...
Mark 3:1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
First and foremost Jesus is the Christ. Who died for everyone, not just the “jews”
Nope. Born a Jew. Now a Christian.
There’s no argument that Christianity cannot be Judaism.
While it’s true that a Jew who openly embraces another religion does not forfeit his Jewishness (and women still transmit Jewishness to their offspring), it is also true that such a Jew might forfeit some of the privileges of being Jewish (such as being buried in a Jewish cemetery).
A Jew who has converted to another faith need not undergo conversion to Judaism when he decides to return to his Jewish faith.
Then I'm sure you'll want to pay particular attention to this verse in the Torah in Deuteronomy:
Deuteronomy 18:15 "The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken"
I think you have to go back and do some reading. Yeshua came for the Jews first. He was their Messiah first. The Jews rejected him and then He became the Savior of the gentiles. If the Jews hadn’t rejected Him there would be no gentile Christians.
Sorry that Schneerson wasn’t your guy.
Anyone with your kind of arrogant stridency has something to hide, and knows deep down that there is something very wrong in what you believe, but is afraid to admit it for fear of losing temporal gain.
Just let the facts lead you to where you know your heart wants to go.
“If the Jews hadnt rejected Him there would be no gentile Christians.”
Your theology on this point stinketh...
It was never ordained in eternity past that Yeshua was to the Jew only.
No, I believe you are incorrect. You obviously did not read what I said nor what the Bible says. Do some studying and then come back with a bit more knowledge of the subject.
PS. Read in the NT what Yeshua said to the lady at the table. Look it up for your edification.
Oh, I see youre back to this open proselytizing on the forum.
***Nothing wrong with proselytizing, and it’s not against the rules on this forum. So what’s your problem with it?
You cannot accept J.C. and be a Jew. The two are incompatible. End of story.
***You mean Paul wasn’t a jew? Jesus wasn’t a jew? Nor the 11 apostles, nor the vast majority of the first christians? You are simply wrong. End of story.
He is forming the Church the Body of Christ, where there is neither Jew nor Gentile, but one new man (Eph. 2:14-22). Being a Jew does not help, being a Gentile does not help. God sees every man as individuals, and desires to be reconciled to each by the finished work of Christ. We are all on equal footing before God. He is not dealing with a kingdom of believers now, but a body of believers. Where there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond or free (1 Cor. 12:13).
RE: You Sir are a fool of the first order.
That remains to be seen. It could be that the adjective applies to you... let’s see your reasoning...
RE: The Torah is the rules to live by G-D gave us.
Well, if God gave us rules, it also means He is the author of those rules. If those rules are His and He is sovereign, I don’t see why He cannot change those rules the way He sees fit for the times.
RE: I live inside of Torah by the word of G-D everyday as best I can.
Good for you. I admire you for that. I hope you can do it perfectly because this God we worship demands perfection.
RE: My G-D is not double minded or says one thing one time and another at another time.
Let me ask you a question, do you still sacrifice a pure lamb in order to be right with God? If so, I’d like to know where you do it.
If not, why aren’t you doing it, since He made it a requirement in the Torah.
RE: Yeshua said “Do you think I came to put away the Law?” No he lived inside of Torah everyday of his life. The Feasts are the Feasts of G_D not Jews, just as the Law is the Law of G_D not of the Jews.
Well, since you are arguing the New Testament now and not the Torah, I would assume that you made Yeshua an authority.
If you accept the premise that Yeshua is the Lord of all, then if Yeshua makes something clean, it IS clean.
This is the same Yeshua who chose Peter as His disciple.
In the book of Acts 10 ( starting from verse 9 ), it says thusly:
9 The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 10 And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance 11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: Rise, Peter; kill and eat. 14 But Peter said, By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice came to him again a second time, What God has made clean, do not call common. 16 This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.”
17 Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood at the gate 18 and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. 19 And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men are looking for you. 20 Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation,[c] for I have sent them. 21 And Peter went down to the men and said, I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming? 22 And they said, Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say. 23 So he invited them in to be his guests.
The next day he rose and went away with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. 24 And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, Stand up; I too am a man. 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered. 28 And he said to them, You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. 29 So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.
Do you see what’s happening here?
Yeshua is telling his disciple that WHAT HE HAS MADE CLEAN ( the previously unclean animals), IS CLEAN.
Of course, if you do not accept the premise of Yeshua being the “I AM” who identified Himself to Moses in the burning bush, the entire presentation I just gave to you is moot.
My husband’s family is half Catholic half Jewish. Our joke is: You wouldn’t believe how many kids we have!
You’re welcome. Spending the day with some family and friends of the family. How about you?
I look at it this way: The Jews refused to listen to Jeremiah; they refused to listen to Jesus. The result in both cases, was the destruction of the Temple and the carrying of Gods word to the other nations, the very opposite of what happens at Babel.
You speak without referencences...without references, without merit.
And another pseudo theologian heard from.
PS - and note. No Jews no Yeshua. Think about that.
