My condolences out to your and yours. I’m sure my cats will be there to great her at the Rainbow Bridge. It’s tough going through losing a pet. Right now, I got one of my 2 cats, Spunky, eating beside me. I took her in with three kittens in 2001, unfortunately, the kittens have all passed, we just got the mother, Spunky, left. Whitey was the last one, she was 11.

Oh, Shari.. I am so very, very sorry. Prayers for you both! All I can say is that you rescued that little dog from certain death. She enjoyed running, playing, eating and all the love you gave her. Her time here on earth was short BUT it was precious and meaningful to her. You were precious and meaningful to her. Some years ago, we rescued a puppy that suddenly had Parvo within 24 hours of bringing her home. We joked that we should have renamed her Visa (from the thousands to save her). She was only with us about 18 months but I had come to the conclusion those few months were precious to her and us. God Bless and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hugs, MOM

Ah no. Damn.

She was so happy and playful in last week’s videos. That’s how she lived. In her short life, Halla could have done no better than you and your hubby, Shari. You guys and the whole pack made her last days a joy, tho for you they were fraught with sorrow and doubt.

Shari, I was haunted for weeks after I alone put down my cat Pearl. At the same time, I feel proud to have heard her purring right up until the hammer fell. She didn’t spend her last hour of life trying to chew her way out of a crate. I don’t know why I’m posting this to you, except to say that it is we who hurt afterwards - those of us left behind with all the options and what-ifs still ringing in our heads.

We suffer.

But Halla no longer does. My Pearl no longer does. They don’t want the people they love to suffer, either.

So grieve. Nevermind the callous words of an idiot. Rest. Recover your strength. Let your friends, four-legged and two-, be your comfort.
