Some in the mainstream media are so angry about the existence of faithful Catholics that they can’t help themselves in becoming unhinged. I will reference the main points, but suffice to say that I could write a book on the subject. These latest quotes have caused me to scramble to get information to my editor so as to include at least some of this in my upcoming book; The Tide Continues To Turn Toward Catholicism, a follow up to my first book. For starters it seems some in mainstream media are so ignorant of religion that even though 90% of Americans belong to some form of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, which all believe that evil is manifested through a figure known as Satan, the media still finds it in their power to mock anyone who thinks evil exists. Some in the media seemed to take glee in pouncing on Catholic and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. He was called a kook, a nut, deranged, a mullah and an ayatollah, not by nameless posters on leftwing blogs but named writers in serious newspapers.
Leading the charge was that maven of militant secularism and angry people everywhere, Maureen Dowd. Here are some of the spoiled nuggets from her dung heap. She calls Santorum a “mullah” who wants to take, “women back to the caves.” She goes on to deride anyone who actually believes in the teachings of the Catholicism that she once practiced.
Never one to miss a chance at apostasy and heresy; Chris Matthews entered the fray with both of his tingling legs. Matthews claimed the reason the Catholic Church is growing is because homophobic converts are coming into the Church. It would appear that Mr. Matthews is off his meds. Has anyone ever informed mister leg tingler.........

For the life of me I can not understand how it is not pointed out ever that both the democrat party and the progressive movement were closely aligned with the KKK and that the war against Catholics and religious freedom is nothing new at all here in America. It is no surprise at all that today’s progressives are anti-Catholic and anti-religious freedom being the progressive movement always has been this way.
Hugo Black, who was a democrat, a progressive and a KKK lawyer ushered in the false Consitutional premise of Separation of Church and State with the intention of driving religion behind closed doors. The KKK was known to be anti-Catholic and anti-religious freedom and was closely aligned with the progressive movment.
Is it a coincidence that the main propaganda used against the Catholic church comes from homosexual assaults on children being that the KKK progressive movement is in bed with the GLBT lobby?
Isn`t this a hate crime and breaking of federal law?

I was raised to think of Roman Catholics as the Antichrist. Man, I was wrong! Orthodox Catholics face the same challenges as orthodox evangelicals. Liberals and revisionists have been trying for decades to destroy any remnants of truthin all Christian divisions. Catholicism, at its heart contains the Gospel. I’m not too keen or educated about the millennia of historical accretions that sometimes goes along with Catholicism, but it’s time for all orthodox Americans to support Rick Santorum and his espousal of Godly values.

When the Catholics were attacked, a sleeping giant was awoken.
It is called “selected application” of the law.
I remember reading a rather shocking bit a long time ago, when the Democrat party “sort of” embraced antisemitism, or at least let their rank and file know that they would not be condemned for it, when they wanted to attack Israel, while saying it was different than hating Jews.
On a left leaning forum, there was a bitter argument between those damning Israel and those non-leftists defending both Israel and Jews.
The defenders pointed out that the leftist statement that “I am not antisemitic, I just hate Israel” is ridiculous, which was so frustrating to one of the leftists that after a long argument, he blurted out:
“If hating Israel and thinking that it and the Israelis should be destroyed is antisemitic, so be it, I am an antisemite!”
A cathartic, and somewhat scary moment.
My point is that now it seems, the Democrat party is moving in that same direction against Catholics. Insisting that they still “like and respect Catholics, that it is Catholicism they hate.” The same perverse self-deception.
But now Chris Matthews seemingly has had a cathartic, and potentially scary moment. He has admitted to himself that he utterly hates Catholics.
It was not that long ago when the Democrat party actively supported the efforts of the KKK to attack Catholics and Jews.
The Democrats have been this way probably since Andrew Jackson, best remembered as having conducted a severe ethnic cleansing of American Indians, his former allies, from East of the Mississippi, and when just before he left office, he plunged America into its worst economic depression until the Great Depression.
Mark Twain depicted a fairly accurate caricature of a Jacksonian Democrat in the character ‘Pap’ Finn, father of Huckleberry. Poor, uneducated, alcoholic, abusive, mean, and filled with burning hate of anyone he thought better than himself. He felt that if a man had $50 in his pocket, it should be taken from him, as he could not have earned it legitimately.
Such men were the substance of the KKK and the Democrats. Hateful, mean “trash” who embraced black slavery for the sole reason that there would be someone, anyone, they could look down on and despise. Such people were also the impulse behind post-war sharecropping, segregation, Jim Crow laws, and the persistence of racism.
The Democrats have not really changed one bit. They have just, for a brief time, convinced themselves that they are so superior to everyone else that they can be magnanimous to their inferiors, as long as their inferiors admit to their inferiority, and grovel before them.

That’s exactly what I’ve been seeing on FB.
With our particular high school class...FB has been a reunion spot.
Many have “friended” each other simply because we went to the same small town high school, even if we didn’t know each other all that well.
It has been an interesting insight to view the different attitudes, beliefs, and values of everyone.
Your post is spot on when it comes to the lefties.
They are always angry, and they always need a target to mock so they can feel superior.
One person was still ranting about Palin recently.
It doesn’t matter that she isn’t running for anything.
I think they would love it if she were - they really enjoy gathering around, pointing, and inventing straw men to destroy.
If anyone is going to start stoning anyone in the public square - it sure isn’t going to be conservatives.
Look around and find the group with the most intense, passionate hatred.
That would be the left.

Leftism is based on the first lies - you can be gods. You are “good”, you can define good and evil for yourself.
So, when they know, viscerally, that they aren’t “good”,
they seek ways to justify and affirm their “goodness”.
That includes taking a superior attitude, putting others down, and advocating that other peoples’ money be confiscated to do good works.
The most interesting thing I’ve noticed, is how different types of catholics are reacting to the hoopla.
The social justice types are just as clueless as ever.
I really wonder if they actually hear anything when they go to mass?
To read what some of them are putting up? It would seem that absolutely nothing is getting absorbed while at church.
What if their priest is more interested in presenting the “social gospel” instead of THE gospel?
That would account for a lot of it. Bad shepherding.
Remember, according to the media the only “good” Roman Catholic is a bad Roman Catholic.
