OneVike has been a Freeper since early 1998, and it seems he is having some medical troubles. I know OV from before I joined FreeRepublic, in fact he is the one who turned me onto FR. I have not regretted the day I joined, and I have many new friends I would not have had if it were not for him getting me to join. OV has never been one to worry about his own troubles much, instead he is usually asking others to pray for his paraplegic wife who has had her share of troubles.
I found out that he is suffering from some sort of nerve problem that has made it impossible for him to concentrate or even use a keyboard. I guess it's an old injury from the accident he and his wife were in 22 years ago that put her in a wheelchair. I talked to him on the phone and he is not sure when he will heal.
The doctors say they cannot do anything for him because he has arthritis that has set into his neck from a childhood illness that was aggravated even worse by the accident in "87". He was told when the inflammation goes down they might be able to help, but as long as it's inflamed there isn't much they can do. They have him on pain killers but he says they really only take the edge off. He doesn't sleep good at night and is finding difficult to even do the things he normally does for his wife.
I read some comments to an article he wrote on his blog called PUP where he explained some of his problems why he has not posted but a few articles this Month and while there is some support for him with prayers, quite a few are leaving hateful comments about his troubles. Saying things like God is doing it to him because he is a bigot, and they hope he never recovers to write again.
Well, I am asking you all to pray for OV, and maybe let those hateful liberals who are leaving mean spirited and evil comments on his site know what you think.

He could care less about the evil comments on his site, but they do prove who they are when a conservative is hurting.

Oh no! He put me on his ping list after we debated over a woman’s right to vote. At first I thought, What nerve. But, like others I have known who have a little bit of nerve and come across as arrogant, I found I have grown fond of him.

Prayers for your friend, his family and you (a friend dealing with this needs prayers as well). Lord, Bless this family and please remove the pain from his body. Let Your healing light circle him and make him well.
Please consider Palliative care doctors/physicians. They focus on pain management and treatment for illnesses like this. Just a thought

I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord wants you to receive the healing that He purchased for you when He died on the Cross of Calvary. It is His desire that you PROSPER and BE IN HEALTH just as your soul prospers. Jesus never turned anyone away who came to Him for healing when He walked among us. He is still with us. Thankfully, as a child of God, you can stake claim to that which has been given to you. Believe that He has already taken care of your arthritis and your wife’s ailments. See your diseases and infirmities upon the body of Jesus. That is what He did for you——He took care of them (just as He took care of your sins) and as children of the Living God, you have inherited the blessings! I am rooting for you, One Vike, and will pray. Just be assured that you don’t need to persuade God to heal you. You just need to believe that He has done it——no matter what symptoms you observe in the sense realm. Wait for all those to go away, because according to God’s Word, it has already been done. Proclaim that Word over and over. Blessed is the Name of the Lord!!!!!
