Prayer Thread Request please
From Chief Engineer | 03/28/2010 11:49:14 PM PDT new
This is Mrs Chief Engineer stuck up in Canada, The Chief Engineer himself was admitted to hospital early Sunday morning with breathing difficulties and a host of other medical difficulties. After he arrived at the E.R. the doctor honestly did not expect him to make it.
Both step-sons have kept me as up to date as they can and I have spoken with him by phone twice today. He sounded fine at 2 pm but when I phoned at 8 pm he was starting to have problems once again. He is on a respirator and a host of medications hoping that he will recover. In the meantime I am stuck up here in Canada praying fervently that he will recover as he is the best thing that has happened to me even though it is difficult for both of us being apart as has been the case since June.
He wants me to remain in Canada for surgery on the arm I had originally injured in May of 08 which was re-injured in Oct of 09 but there is a 3 year waiting list for that surgery and nothing is being done for it at the present time and I want nothing more than to be at his side. It is a difficult situation so I am asking that a prayer thread be started. I apologise for sending this to you but I dont know who the actual Freeper is who starts Prayer threads. Thanking you in advance and God Bless.
Praying here
Prayers for these lovely people!
Prayers going up!

prayers up
Prayers continue for BOTH of you!
God bless and be with you, M/M Chief Engineer. You all are in my prayers, along with the medical personnel.
Prayers for all...
Prayers sent.
Prayers up for the whole Engineer Family...
Prayers are sent for Chief Engineer, Mrs. Chief Engineer, and the entire family. This story is just terrible.
In my younger years, I worked as a Patient Advocate in a teaching hospital and I learned a valuable lesson: immediate family are too weighed down with concern and fear to be fighting with the system to get a patient what he needs. A caring, assertive family member from the extended family (an in-law or cousin, for example) needs to be the advocate for the patient. Immediate family is just too worn out with worry.
Lord, lift this entire family up and restore them to health, especially Chief Engineer. Grant them peace. Send them a dedicated and trusted family member who will step in and fight some of these battles for them. Let them feel Your love every day. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen
Prayers, for sure. God sustain you and him.
I just now ended a phone call with my step-son, it is 1:43 am and I dread to see what my own blood sugar reading will be in the proper morning considering I have been up over 24 hours in total with a step-son in ID and one in WI keeping me informed and as up-to-date as possible on what was happening with the Chief. This afternoon I decided I would go down to ID through the Panhandle on May 1st crossing my fingers for obvious reasons mentioned above and be with the Chief for three and a half weeks. He was home for a very short time today but once again had breathing difficulties and the altitude where we live comes into play as a factor in regard to his breathing difficulties. We live over a mile above sea level which is difficult for him and while he was in the small hospital we began discussing a move to WI where his oldest son lives and where the altitude is much lower. Apparently he also has a touch of pneumonia which doesn’t help with the breathing either. Tomorrow his son, my step-son, will be going to look at two assisted living facilities where he will be until I go down the 1st of May. Naturally the entire family is undergoing a lot of stress and strain with this situation and they cannot understand how or why the government of ID and the Federal Government have done what they did. “What God has joined together let no man tear asunder” and yet both levels of government did exactly that. I can only stay for 3 1/2 weeks because my orthopedic surgeon informed me that I could have surgery in the Lethbridge hospital as early as July to receive a new shoulder ball joint. I am trying to keep all affairs in order in which include phoning the insurance company about a settlement with the city because of the poorly maintained sidewalk. After that I still have to wait to have the 7 compressed discs repaired in my back as I am determined to remain out of a wheelchair. As of yet, not a single orthopedic surgeon has even commented on those discs and I have not even had a bone scan done. The Chief is resting comfortably tonight and by tomorrow night hopefully he will be resting in an extended care home until I can get there but by then maybe the pneumonia will have cleared up and he can handle the amount of time left in the home in ID. If not then I will have to go down again and try to pack up as much as I can with one hand and arm and have it moved to his son’s home while he goes on to WI where the altitude is much lower. Then I would have to have my other step-son drive a longer distance to come and get me but at least he has a sleeper in his truck so it wouldn’t put an undue strain on my back. That is how things remain at the moment so I am praying that the Chief improves healthwise and shakes the depression which he seems to be suffering from. He has always been the healthy one while I have had the medical problems, and this recent bout of difficulties has thrown him for a loop. I thank one and all for your prayers and ask that you continue with them until we can be together once again even if it is only for 3 1/2 weeks, may they go by extremely slowly and may I have a box of kleenex handy when that time is up. Once again Thank-you from Mrs ChiefEngineer.
P.S. If anyone has a little weight they want to lose I’ll take it since I am now down to 80 lbs from all the stress.
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
Oh, my. Prayers to all of you. It sounds like the Chief would do much better in WI and the sooner the better.
Prayers up for him and for you, Mrs. Chief Engineer.
Prayer bump!
**P.S. If anyone has a little weight they want to lose Ill take it since I am now down to 80 lbs from all the stress.**
Wish I could give you 10 pounds or so.
Continuing to pray.
I would like to request the beginning of a prayer request once again for Chief Engineer. He entered the hospital today after seeing the ENT specialiat (Ears, Nose and Throat Specialist) yesterday where he was informed he has polyps in his nose and on his voicebox. The ENT is 99.5% positive that the polyps on his voicebox are malignant and once he has had the polyps removed, The Chief is expected to undergo a regimen of radiation treatment for the cancer for a six month period Monday through Thursday. I will be heading down next Friday to begin cleaning the house but must be back in Canada the end of May as they have tentatively scheduled me for surgery to replace the damaged shoulder ball joint in July or August. Once that surgery has been done and I have recovered sufficiently I intend on coming back down to the U.S. since it is obvious they have no intention of doing a bone density scan to see if I am even a candidate for disc fusion. I find it difficult to believe that they dont plan on doing anything for a condition which should have been diagnosed back in the early 90s but I guess I cant expect more from socialized medicine. Once I arrive back in the U.S. my most important task is to take care of the Chief and if anyone asks I will inform them of exactly what the state and federal governments did. None of this needed to happen if both levels of government hadnt played dirty. Have a good weekend and thanks once again for starting yet another prayer thread, I myself will be praying.
