While I have no use for the man or his theology, it would be wrong to imply that he's an ignorant hick. There's more than one kind of ignorant.

“Why hasn’t God struck down America for abortion?”
“He doesn’t need to strike us down; all he has to do is sit back and watch our evil do us in. It’s the absence of the hand of God that allows these things.”
So why did`nt He just sit back and let Haiti`s “evil” do itself in?

The stupidity is compounded by giving the atheist Left a new Two Minutes Hate talking point.
In the light of God and his infallable Word, who gives a flip what the left does. I'm sure that no one could convince the 450 prophets of Baal that their god wasn't all powerful and could defeat any god. But God used just one man (Elijah) to completely inihilate those godless men. Their god was actually "no god" at all. All you theologians who have made up their mind that Pat Robertson is just a loon is completely and utterly baffling to me. His message is just not what your itching ears want to hear so what do you do...BASH!!! Ya know, Hebrews 13:8 says that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, yes, and forever..."(NASB)..But all you theologians on this forum seem to have placed God in a box and his Almighty hand just can't extend beyond that box...Wake up, sleeping Chistian.

You know we have all been debating something that Pat Robertson never actually said. He said that Haiti was under a curse for a pact with the devil. He never said God was judging Haiti for their sins. Either way I don’t agree with him.

I am as Christian as I am Conservative and I know this, God had nothing to do with what happened in Haiti.Frankly, you have no more idea whether God had anything to do with what happened in Haiti than does Pat Robertson.
Don't presume to speak for God.

You were saying ...
Why hasn't God struck down America for abortion?
Ummmm..., perhaps because Obama is already doing a good job of it...
[ God does use evil men and other evil nations to strike down nations for His judgement. Obama fits that scenario very well... ]

Maybe he is using the following statement for his basis:
“One common saying is that Haitians are 70 percent Catholic, 30 percent Protestant, and 100 percent voodoo,”

Our church is there working with people. “Many” is a subjective term, and you have a point, but there are probably more there than there were in Sodom when Abraham begged for it to be spared before it’s catastrophe. Either way, Robertson should be careful of what he says. If any nation needs judging it is the U.S. for no other reason than abortion.
What Pat said was the first thing that came to my mind, especially regarding voodoo and the evil there, but I did not utter it to the general public as he did.

post 188 - Apperantly Pat was referring to something to an event that can be found in wikipedia: The most historically important Vodou ceremony in Haitian history was the Bwa Kayiman or Bois Caïman ceremony of August 1791 that began the Haitian Revolution, in which the spirit Ezili Dantor possessed a priestess and received a black pig as an offering, and all those present pledged themselves to the fight for freedom. This ceremony ultimately resulted in the liberation of the Haitian people from French colonial rule in 1804, and the establishment of the first black peoples republic in the history of the world and the second independent nation in the Americas.
If you watch the entire video... he was appealing to his audience to help the people of Haiti. You would think that Mr. Robertson would realize that his comment relating to Haitian history would be taken out of context.
