The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Sorry. I don't watch much TV. I don't even know what the Apprentice is.

How silly of me. You don't have time for TV. You have a horse. ;-)

It's a bunch of aspiring corporate folks trying to land a job as president of a company. One of Donald Trump's companies. Every week they have certain tasks to do and every week he "fires" someone. Now they're down to the final 2.

It's quite the pop culture phenomenon of the season. They're already casting a second season. It's created by the same guy who does "Survivor."

That explains why I keep reading the "you are fired" jokes. I wondered what that was about.

That's it. Trump got the phrase "you're fired" trademarked.

Even if it's not, it still works towards God's greater glory.

The Apprentice will also explain any references to "Omarosa" you might see. She needs to be experienced to be believed, but she is what you might expect Jesse Jackson's love child to grow up to be.

The Calvinists seem to be saying that we who believe in Freewill are robbing God of the glory of our salvation, and giving the credit to ourselves. That is totaly false. Without His calling none of us would have found Him. IMO:)

The shepherd goes and finds his lost sheep , they do not find them , He finds them. Calvinists believe in free will . BUT we believe that man will only do what he wills to do. He will never CHOOSE to repent and make Jesus Lord. He can not and will not do that because he is dead to God. God has to "quicken those that are DEAD in sin and trespasses ", before they can "see the kingdom of God" and desire to repent and make Christ Lord.

The problem with theology that says one needs to CHOOSE Christ before you are saved is evident. It means
1) It was not finished at the cross . That the cross saves no one . man chooses to save himself

The order of salvation is . The cross + mans will + mans decision =salvation. So the cross alone is completely useless and meaningless . It means that the "means of salvation " ordained of God before the foundation of the world, could not have saved anyone. It might have been a waste of Gods time.

2) It means that God has no" free will", it means He is completely bound and subject to His "subjects " (So just who is sovereign here? The creator or the created? )

" Is there any thing too hard for God " the scripture asks . The scripture also says the word of God ALWAYS accomplishes what God INTENDS for it to do. So either God desires to save all or not. If He does not then we need to ask why he can not do that and why the scripture lies when it says it always accomplishes what He desires.

I think a scripture search will reveal there is not ONE SCRIPTURE that tells us we should "choose Christ" , but there are many scriptures that tell us He chooses us .

Psa 65:4 Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee, that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple

"I once heard it said that Christ owned nothing, He borrowed a boat and He borrowed a Donkey.

And before He died they cast lots for what He wore. He truly gave away everything for us.

Vince is no help in the search for the truth of Christ Becky .

Courtesy ping?

I'm guessing that Becky is quite capable of gleaning what she finds relevant in my posts. Just because I don't agree with YOU 100% doesn't mean that 100% of what I say is false.

Whatever you might think about my ability to help in the "search for the truth", I'm pretty good at picking out flaws and logical inconsistencies.

For example, explain to me how

God is absolutely sovereign.

Sin is contrary to God's will.

You have yet to give a straightforward answer to this question, in all the different ways it has been asked of you by myself and others.

I'm magnanimous. I'm willing to accept "its a mystery" as an answer, if you will acknowledge the apparent contradiction between the two propositions.

I'm curious Malakhi. I've given you my explanation in 4344 and 4363. How would you explain this?

God is absolutely sovereign.

Sin is contrary to God's will.

I've given you my explanation in 4344 and 4363.

The best I can make out of your 4344 is that you are saying "it's a mystery." Is that true?

In 4363 you just outlined the possibilities. I don't remember you picking one.
