Even if the Bible is your "hat" (and I'm not saying it is here), if you're "forcing it to fit" you've still got a problem.
Who made them to prefer what they prefer? Why are they like that? Who is responsible?

She's been feeding well, off the IV now. They'll have results from the infection culture today, but barring anything odd turning up there, she should be home tomorrow. My sister's been living down there providing milk for the baby.

There is great peace and assurance knowing the world is not spinning out of control . To know that we have a God that cares so much that he measures our steps and catches our tears in a bottle. There is peace in knowing that no matter what occurs , hurricanes, floods , illness , death , job loss ....that God has worked it all out sovereignly before the foundation of the world.
Jesus asks " What man builds a tower without first counting the cost "?
We know with assurance that " God works all things together for the good for those that love Him and are called according to His purposes.

Paul lays out that men can not be saved apart from Christ. He gave the Jews the law on tables, he wrote the law on the heart of men . No man can keep the law ( on his heart or on the tablets) perfectly. All men have fallen short of the glory of God, and need a saviour ...

God restrains no man from coming to Him. On judgment day every man will stand in front of God and they will be without an excuse . That is because they have rejected Christ and the Gospel with their free will. The problem is that the sons of Adam are not interested in the gospel, the sons of God are.

Who will come? Those that are drawn by the father.
