Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Yeeesh, you guys are really exclusive. Like a country club that refuses Jewish members.
Sometimes threads are all talk about topics, and that's great.
But sometimes threads are all about talking about the threads, and that's a waste of time. Sorry for my part in the latter.
No they say He is faithful , and indeed He is to His word and His promises.
What is Fair? Fair would not have been slaughtering people just because they were on land that he wanted to give to Israel.
Fair is not playing favorites like he did when he gave the birthright to Jacob..
Fair is not giving one nation a way to atone for sin and leaving the others in their polytheistic religion that are an abomination to Him.
Fair is giving the higher wage to a man that worked all day in the field and not treating them all the same
Fair is having mercy on all people , not just who He wants to have mercy on.
Did Abraham enter into a covenant with God , or did he sleep through it?
No Cindy if He knew the scriptures he would not have walked away ....as the Rabbi Paul noted
1Cr 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Cr 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Cr 1:20 Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1Cr 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1Cr 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1Cr 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
2Cr 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
You are too easily impressed

Mat 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
If he is meant to hear he will ...
Actually, if you read back a few days you will see that some of the other Calvinists say that a Christian wouldn't hang out here.
As for getting banned. I've noticed that on "Catholic threads" they moan and complain about how JimRob is quick to ban Catholics and let anti-Catholics get away with FAR more. On the Calvinist threads they moan and complain about how JimRob is quick to ban Calvinists and let everyone else get away with FAR more. Here I've seen the NC's (and a few others) moan the same way about how pro-catholic the mods obviously are. Or perhaps "anti-NES" posters get away with everything.
I think they're all missing the point. It's the whole "mote/plank" thing. I suspect the mods have pretty plain-vanilla rules for civil discourse and people are too blind to see when they cross those (very reasonable) lines. This isn't the "free speech public street corner", it's a political website that consents to have it's regular members carry on other discussions. If people can't play within the rules, fin d a new game.
Welcome to the thread!
Yes, of course, anyone can post here. Just maintain an appropriate level of respect for others (not "accept that everyone's beliefs are equally valid") and you'll find it a wonderful place to spend a little time.
What's your background?
So the sacrifice is complete BEFORE (in our time frame) it is applied or found acceptable?
