This thread is only rivaled by the live thread when the tanks rolled into Baghdad. How soon they forget the unforgettable

McClintock is by far and away the best man for the job ABSOLUTELY......
Ditto

I agree wholeheartedly. I suspect that while Tom won on substance, Arnold's strong personality will ultimately carry the debate with the average voter.

Both Arnold and Tom performed well. How about knocking off the personal insults in the interest of civility?
If commenting about a lifetime politician's position or record is "personal" then I suggest you find a cooler kitchen.
To: TomasUSMC
Tom won with Camejo close at his heels. Adrianna and Arnold came in tied in a death grip with each other dead last. Bustamonte was asleep the whole time.LOL!
Cruz wasn't even on cruz control. The ol' mental flwheel was turning, but nothing was getting to the wheels.

I think that was probably planned....just a hunch.
I think McC did well, I know , I know I have been a lil down on him. Its a shame we couldn't merge the two...
Remember this though, the people who Freep are ,ahem, generally smarter or more informed than the average voter...
The joe schmoe voter is more likely to go Arnie, who did good as well, that being the case I offer the following scenario...
Arnie endorsed by Tom. Tom becomes "Budget Czar" under Arnie. As California is turned around, Tom runs for senate on the California miracle, funded, supported and backed by Bush, Arnie and a grateful Rep. party.....

Hey, dude.
I support the Indians, so don't cry to me. But I also support the Nittany Lions AND the Fighting Irish (yes, it can be done). I feel your pain.
Other than that, I"m well.

Both Arnold and Tom performed well. How about knocking off the personal insults in the interest of civility? Agree with that 100% -- insults are definitely not needed on this thread when it is a night that two Republicans took it to the Liberals!

I thought Arnold did fine. He wasn't as refined as he could've bin but I think he passed the bar. I think he has a basic grasp of what needs to be done and handled the rabid attacks fairly adeptly.
McClintock was a slick politician. He'll never get the 20% EXTRA he needs to win. He should "step aside". If he runs against Boxer, she'll eat him alive. But I'd vote for him anyway.

Arianna came off like an airhead with a shrill megaphone. I'm not sure what debate they listened to. She acted like she was running against Bush et al. What a dingbat.
She wasn't there to run for governer. She was there to take pot shots against Bush and Schwarzenegger for the most part.

well, the "post police" are in full force, time to go.
They don't own the forum, they don't set the rules, they don't administer it...but they are constantly telling everyone else what to post and what not to post, etc.

Gray Davis lost this debate. Sorry. This whole debate was a consensus on how screwed up the state of California is and precisely because it's leadership has no vision and no direction. Tom did a great job tonight. He should come to Indiana and run for Governor here. In California, I don't see it happening. The winner tonight was Arnold. The Greenie and Huffington were hot air and unrealistic. Cruz was a stuffed suit. There were two people on that stage - one electable and one not. And Much as I hate to say it, Tom is not electable. If I was a Californian, I'd be wishing Tom would run as Arnold's pick for Lt. Governor. The two of them would make a hell of a team. But, Arnold has vision, conviction, the will to see it through and a detachment that makes him a much stronger choice than anyone else on that stage. Arnold won the night. He didn't walk away with it by any means; but, he did what he needed to do.

Bustamante and Davis were both huge losers tonight. Not if Tom stays in. LA times will have McClintock up 7 points in the AM.
Tom is energized, stays in, Cruz wins.
