Day Before 10 Commandments D-Day: Ambassadore Keyes on Hannity
Posted on 08/19/2003 3:01:13 PM PDT by Arthur Wildfire! March
Alan Keyes is calling on everyone within driving distance to rally in Alabama with him-- a candlelight vigil tomorrow at 7:00 PM. Keyes is fired up about this. Mike Savage is fired up about this. Hannity asked Ambassadore Keyes if Judge Roy Moore might land in jail. Keyes replied, "Only if I go to jail with him!"
Judge Roy Moore will be on Hannity tomorrow night. Whoever can't go [I can't go-- wish I could], please pray for these patriots.

So does Alan plan on getting a real job soon, or does he just plan to live off his borrowed campaign funds that he won't pay back?

Roy Moore is a publicity seeking politician. All he wants is a springboard to run for Richard Shelby's seat, or to challenge a weakened Bob Riley for Gov.
Why does God need Roy Moore to advertise the Ten Commandments? The Ten Commandments are much bigger than a graven image statue and Roy Moore.
He is a phony, he won't get my vote.

Sometimes I actually think there's hope for this country in our fight against being taken over by the communists.

I noticed that. For Alan, talk is cheap. He'll say he's willing to do all sorts of things, but let him get locked up doing some disobedience, and he'd be whining like the little sissy he is.
He's not a man, and Martin Luther King, Jr. he ain't.

***Roy Moore is a publicity seeking politician.****
According to the Bible, the Romans said something similar about Jesus Christ. That's why he was crowned with a crown of thorns which represented his desire to be King. So, tell me, would you have agreed with the Romans?

and you are a dumbass. I have met him, and I know people who have worked with his campaign. He is vain, arrogant, very ambitious.
What do you know of our politicians here? Don't be suckered by his act. He has been calculating every step of the way.

Roy Moore has ridden this issue to his position. He picked a fight with the ACLU while he was a circuit judge in Gadsden (an opponent that nobody likes). He rode this all the way to Montgomery. He is not very well liked, nor respected by the other judges, or the the republican lawyers who have appeared in front of him.
It is a common belief that he is just as calculating as Clinton, and just as cynical.
What do you people who have probably never spent a day in Alabama, know of our politicians? Don't fall into the trap of hero worship, just because he tweaks the nose of the ACLU.
We are not a theocracy. He is sworn to uphold the law. If he violates a court order, he should be impeached.

You are free to like anyone you choose.
Don't be so quick to fall into the hero worship mode. He is a demagogue, and he is very arrogant. Don't be so quick to take his side. Not all that claim to work for God are. Some use His name to advance their own causes.
All the leeches are hanging on to him. He is wasting my tax dollars to granstand and advance his career. Wait and see, he will not be all you think he is.

I wouldn't be too quick to discount BamaG, maybe he knows something about the man that the rest of us don't.
Please do tell us more about this Judge, BamaG.

Thanks for your open mindedness.
I used to support him, until I met him, and some of his workers. I have friends in the Republican party.
I will not break some of the confidences on the net, but I will say that based on my observations, that he is not a humble man, he is vain, he is self centered and overly (and by overly, I mean to the level of Hillary) ambitious.
These are not qualities that I would pick in a warrior for God

There would be the fact that he did this for his fundraising friends at Coral Ridge Ministries of Ft. Lauderdale. For those who don't know, Coral Ridge is a 60 million dollar a year televangelism empire closely affiliated with TBN (home of Paul and Jan Crouch, she of the purple hair and big fake boobs).
They've been pimping the video as a come on for donations. Of course, televangelizing is very expensive - they spend nearly 4 million annually on fundraising, and who knows how much disappears in the funny math of TV preachers. Also remember that most of those donations come from widow's mites.

The U.S. House of Representatives has voted to withhold funds from any enforcement action related to a federal appeals court's decision that the Ten Commandments monument in the Alabama judicial building is unconstitutional.
By a vote of 260-161, lawmakers last week OK'd an amendment by Rep. John N. Hostettler, R-Ind., to prohibit any money in the bill funding the Justice Department from going to enforcement of the controversial decision. House rebuffs court on 10 Commandments
The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States secures rights against laws respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof made by the United States Government. Ten Commandments Defense Act of 2003
The Framers of the Constitution deliberately withheld, in the main body of that document, any authority for the Federal Government to meddle with the religious affairs or with the free speech of the people. Then, as further and more specific protection for the people, they added the first amendment, which includes the `establishment clause' and the `freedom of speech clause' which are as follows: `Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech . . .'. It is of utmost importance to note that the first amendment is not a grant of authority to the Federal Government. To the contrary, it is a specific restriction upon the exercise of power by the Federal Government. Religious Freedom Restoration Act
Conservatives and libertarians who once viewed the judiciary as the final bulwark against government tyranny must now accept that no branch of government even remotely performs its constitutional role. ...It's time for the executive and legislative branches to show some backbone, appoint judges who follow the Constitution, and remove those who do not." --Ron Paul 13 August 2003, Federalist No. 03-33, Wednesday Chronicle
The following explains why judge Myron Thompson is wrong:
The electorate must demand that Congress act in accordance with the testimony presented in Congress, the Court, and the Constitution According to The Birmingham News,
seventy percent of respondents support Chief Justice Moore's granite display, which includes the Ten Commandments, and statements from our nation's Founding Fathers that document America's Christian heritage. Only twenty percent disapprove of the monument's display, which was privately funded by Chief Justice Moore, and cost the taxpayers of Alabama nothing. The other ten percent were unsure. Tom Gordon, "Poll: Most back Moore on Ten Commandments," The Birmingham News, September 15, 2002
Police would not estimate the size of the crowd, which appeared to be several thousand people, possibly as many as 10,000.
After the rally hundreds of people walked several blocks to the judicial building, where they lined up to view the monument inside. Some debated with about 35 atheists holding a counterprotest across the street. Thousands Rally In Support Of Ten Commandments Monument
UPDATE: The open letter to Justice Roy Moore received 33,000 signatures(as of 19Aug03) since it was launched on Friday! We encourage every American Patriot, who believes as our Founders did that our Constitution should not be subject to the vagaries of an activist Leftjudiciary, to sign an open letter in support of Chief Justice Roy Moore's defense of religious liberty and states' rights in this landmark case. http://patriotpetitions.us/openletter
