Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

It isn't. But given present circumstances I'm going with the most
likely prospect,
Bub.
Given two "no-fly-list" terrorists were just apprehended at Sea-Tac trying to enter the country with one way tickets to New York...and given the fact that we've been warned for over two weeks that a "unprecedented terrorist attack" was being planned for "end of summer...in August", I think I have reason to believe this is incredibly suspicious.
If it's just a "hiccup" then bully for you, Bub.

Elaine Dickinson: There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Yes, websites are being affected. Strange, I had been trying to download something for about 2 hours before the blackout. I've seen folks here say they had flickers this morning. Wonder if it really started earlier in the day and eventually escalated.

After that, they're not frozen--but if still cold they'll keep for another several days. That's what I figure too. I was just wondering what the legalities are of selling food that had not been continuously cooled. I suppose plain old refrigerated (not frozen) food would be the more immediate concern. How long would it take for refrigerated food to 'go over'? I suppose power will be back on in NYC well before that would be a major issue, but it IS very hot there today.

Letterman off the air tonight.
Leno gets huge boost.
It's a conspiracy of NBC! (what they won't do for ratings)

those folks in the control centers are having on hell of a day!I imagine so. Also the firefighters, police officers etc. who are probably looking for people trapped in elevators, subway etc.
We must always remember the service our fire and police dept's provide in emergencies.

I don't even think the power company folks would necessarily know within 60 minutes of what happened. I agree, this is likely non-suspicious, but clearly the gov has a preference to say 'nothing to see here' out of the chute.

IOK, bucko. Since when is YOUR uninformed, in-expert opinion considered a FACT? It's a FACT that this is a very Peculiar incident.
Notice that nobody is saying what exactly happened, only that they are sure it wasn't an act of sabotage.
If you DON'T KNOW HOW it happened, YOU DON'T KNOW that it isn't sabotage.

I agree. For so many years the enviros have led Congress, Politicos by the nose (being polite) with their pressure groups and now we are all paying coast to coast. No drilling in Anwar, no offshore drilling, no exploration - just stop using our SUV'S, stop living in this century.
Perhaps the GOP will get smart and use some of today's pictures and pound this message home - we need to be energy self-sufficient.
