This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:

"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.

Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.

You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."

I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

Boy Meets Boy was interesting to watch.

I watched it last night. It really wasn't very entertaining. But a sudden thought just occurred to me. The gay star of the show (the one who gets to pick) is really getting shortchanged.

They threw in a bunch of straights as what - a sort of social experiment? What happens when the time comes to kiss one of the guys - as inevitably happens on the other dating shows, eg. The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, etc.? A straight guy is not going to want to kiss a gay guy.

So what will happen - will the straight guy "out" himself as a straight? Then what - the whole premise of the show is blown as the guy realizes that there are straights mixed in? He will feel betrayed when he realizes that he was just being toyed with. He truly went on the program looking for love and Bravo made it harder for him to find it.

I wonder how many straights there are on the show. Maybe there aren't as many as we think. One of the rejectees last night was straight. Maybe he's the only one.

If there's more than that one straight (and even then), the gay guy is getting shortchanged. Odd, for a supposedly pro-gay show and pro-gay network.

The show has already been taped. It's not live.

When they get down to three 'dates', I think two of them will turn out to be straight. And I think his top pick will most likely be a straight. I suspect that, due to a phrase they used in their tease for next week's show, that one of the straight guys will out himself by making a pass at the star's faghag girl best friend or some such.

The 'star' has already been complaining about what a nasty set up the whole show was. I think about half of these people will end up completely trashed by this show. Especially the star and his girl friend.

So, do you intend to say that because some things have improved (i.e. slavery is no longer tolerated) that we should accept the moral decline of this country an say that things are merely "balancing out?" I hope not...

Yes, the gay Fab Five are ready for prime time.

The fashion and culture mavens of cable's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy successfully crossed over to broadcast TV, helping NBC to big wins for the ratings week ended Sunday.

The Peacock dominated as both the most watched network, averaging 7.7 million viewers, and the most watched network among demographically desirable 18-to-49-year-olds.

Queer Eye did its part, with the makeover show bringing in 6.9 million customers in its prime-time debut in the 9:30 p.m., Thursday time slot after Will & Grace (22nd place, 7.9 million viewers).

The show ran second in the hour, behind CBS' top-rated CSI (first place, 13.3 million), but expanded considerably on its cable audience.

Airing as an hourlong series on NBC-owned Bravo, the show, about a quintet of gay men on a quest to get straight men to open up to the possibilities of fresh paint and bathing, has averaged 1.6 million viewers.

Cut down to a half-hour for its NBC premiere, the show ranked 39th for the prime-time week, according to Nielsen Media Research.

I think its either caused by something in the brain either mental or related to the glands that regulate sexual desire and function.

Then how do you explain the fact that boys who were sexually abused at a young age by older males have a very high incidence of homosexuality? This can't be explained away as "something in their glands directly or indirectly caused them to be sexually abused at a young age". And an explanation that the abuse caused gland changes also seems far-fetched.

In addition, there is a ton of recent research out there - a lot of it done recently - that shows that a very large chunk of boys who grow up with neglectful and/or physically abusive (not sexually abusive) fathers will end up as homosexuals.

The common thread between both of the above categories is that these boys grew up with anything BUT normal, mentoring, nurturing male-to-male relationships in their lives.

The statistics are there. Period. But the theories which are then advanced to explain these statistics are of course hotly disputed. Personally, the theory that makes the most sense to me is the theory that the lack of healthy male love during childhood causes the quest for any male love at all - even dangerously unhealthy sexual "male love" in adulthood.

Your post explains very well most homosexuals I've known. Natually, there are exceptions to anything when it comes to human beings. But, generally, you just explained about 90% of them. It's very largely preventable. But if it is already a factor at puberty, I have doubts about reversing it. Like many things, children have to be given a good moral and emotional foundation early.

I don't care if they are born with it or not. It is not normal. No matter how many laws are passed that decree otherwise.

It is like a person born with a defective heart. You show compassion for that person, you try to treat that person, you try to prevent such anomaly in future children.

But you don't legislate "defective" hearts "normal."
