Let BRAVO Know What You THINK About Their Homosexual Agenda!
07/29/03 | Kieri

Posted on 07/29/2003 6:25:52 AM PDT by Kieri

This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:

"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.

Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.

You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."

I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

BRAVO's "Contact Us" page is here:

And as far as "deep issues" - yes it's true that those of us who oppose the homosexual political agenda DO think deeply.

I don't see any deep thought whatsoever. I see shallow homophobic hatred and paranoid anger directed at a TV show about teaching cooking, decorating and personal grooming. Perhaps Vast Gay Conspiracy is a better name for you.

the bottom line is that religious discrimination is illegal TODAY, and that that is a standard based on behavior, not immutable characteristics.

Nope. You missed the whole point. The bottom line is that all common, widely implemented anti-discrimination laws are intended to protect people from being discriminated against because of immutable characteristics such as race and gender. And this includes anti-religious-discrimination laws - which as I explained are necessary in order to make the anti-racial-discrimination laws enforceable.

But an anti-sexual-orientation-discrimination law is a totally new beast - one that gives special status to a whole class of behaviors. It's an awful precedent to set, as it opens a Pandora's box of special protections for any type of behavior at all. ...... Or at least any type of behavior that Hollywood decides tomorrow is chic - which as we all know is a prelude to seeing new chic legislation coming from the bench, and a prelude to moralizing lectures from FR's Libertarian contingent - castigating us for not immediately jumping feet first into the latest fashionable New Morality Craze.

"The job [porno film editor] was legal."

And so is a woman bending over in Vegas for a buck.

"And I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of men at FR have enjoyed one of these films..."

"Enjoyed"?? Yeah, I guess hookers the world over would also rationalize their "contribution" to mankind the same way. Gee, thanks for your "service."

Care to back up the "homophobe" accusation? Or the "hatred" accusation? I've written 1000's of words so far on this thread. Go ahead and show me where I've expressed hatred for homosexuals. Back it up or else admit you're wrong.

And while you're at it, I've said absolutely nothing about the TV show. Don't have cable. Never have. Never will. So I'm not going to talk about a show I never intend to see.

You won't be able to back up your false accusations, and I'll tell you why. It's because whenever someone says anything contrary to the homosexual political agenda, you (and most other Libertarians I know) go into kneejerk reaction mode and impute motives of "hatred" to that person. Again and again, the accusations you make using words like "homophobia," "paranoia," and "hatred" betray your complete inability to think rationally on this issue.

Thank you for admitting you have nothing constructive to offer on the topic of this thread, a tv show on Bravo about makeovers given by gay men to a straight man.

I always laugh my ass off at those who scream about tv shows but upon prodding they admit they have never ever seen it. Group think paranoia at its worst.

In post # 451 you wrote "Yeah! That's the ticket. Let's let our kids see a show where the homosexuals all have class and the straights all live like bums. And let's encourage them to watch shows where conservatives are all bums and the liberals are all class acts. What's the harm there? "I can't be converted. Can you?"

Impressionable teens and college age kids can. Should that be considered a "positive" thing?

" And you think that's worse than televangelists stealing millions of dollars while promising elderly, frightened senior citizens that their contributions will help secure them nice property in Heaven?"

Not disagreeing with you on the issue of the financial exploitation of people in exchange for "pull' in heaven -- NOBODY here would ever give the Jim Bakkers of the world a free ride. There are con men in every field of endeavor -- the Bible itself has warned of the same....

"Televangelism" is supposed to enlighten with the message of righteousness, forgiveness and grace to save the immortal soul -- unlike the porography "industry," whose exploits are supposed to bury in darkness the immortal soul.

BTW, calling Jim Bakker scum isn't placing America second, being an apologist for his behavior is.

"The America First Movement...home to more recipients of Nazi medals than any other American organization in History."

You're referring to the 'America First Committee.' You're close, but no cigar (not even one made in Central America) ;-)

"BTW, calling Jim Bakker scum isn't placing America second, being an apologist for his behavior is."

You're once again presenting an out-of-context argument while drifting into an altogether different issue tangent.

All Christian Televangelists = Falwell = Robertson = Bakker doesn't add up. I know that's what the media told you, but...

And sorry. I guess (and I assume those you include in my so-called "posse") never regarded you as much a preserver of THE Constitution. That's right -- It's a 'A Living Document' -- isn't it??

Thank you for admitting you have nothing constructive to offer on the topic of this thread, a tv show on Bravo about makeovers given by gay men to a straight man.

Thank you for admitting you have the attention span of a gnat, and thank you for admitting to a laziness so boundless that you couldn't perform the single mouse click that would have brought up the original topic of this thread - a simple action that would hopefully have compensated for the ignorance brought about by your Attention Span Deficit Disorder. The original post - #1 - said absolutely nothing about the TV show you refer to. It talked merely about a letter that was sent to complain about Bravo's programming in general that pushes the homosexual agenda. There have been a large number of related topics following thae original post on this thread - including different aspects of the gay agenda and one particular Bravo show, among many other topics.

I always laugh my ass off at those who scream about tv shows but upon prodding they admit they have never ever seen it.

Well, seeing as how I've never once commented on this particular TV show, you leave me no choice but to LMAO at those who scream at others for saying things they never said - most especially when a few clicks could quickly verify that what the screamer THINKS the other person said is actually nothing more than a hallucination on the part of the screamer.

Happy Hallucinations, Finnman69

Help me understand your point as it applies to this discussion.

My point in this particular part of the discussion is that while some things are worse or more deviant than they used to be, other things are less deviant and better than they used to be.

I think that there is a tendency to romance the past into something it wasn't.

Have you ever watched a porno film or not? Do you think there is something wrong with them? Are you a virgin? If you're married, did you ever engage in premarital sex?

Clint to VetsRule: "So homosexuality is a belief?"

Epic. ; )

But you're debating with someone who posted this earlier so you might suspect he's not playing with a full deck:
VetsRule, #493: "Tolerance is a beautiful thing, especially when you're tolerating people who have a biological predisposition for being gay through no fault of their own."

When you were a teen or college student do you think that you could have been convinced to switch teams?

I've been hit on by, I'm guessing, 20 guys in my life, mostly in the years between 16 and 30. I never even considered it. I just smiled, said no thank you, and was on my way.

inman69: I always laugh my ass off at those who scream about tv shows but upon prodding they admit they have never ever seen it. Group think paranoia at its worst.

Anyone who saw last night's Queer Eye would quickly conclude that the 'straight' guy was just another sodomite and the whole thing was a con job. Well, anyone exept a few isolated liberaltarian rubes like finnman.

If the "Fabulous Five" were performing anal sodomy on the so-called 'straight' guy during primetime, finnman would still be saying, "That isn't promoting sodomy."

Finn, baby, there's something a little odd about a man who actually likes to watch sodomites feeling up another guy, drooling over him, making lewd suggestions to him, undressing him, planning how he'll propose to his 'girlfriend', grabbing him for a hug from the rear with crotch-to-butt rubbing while making lewd suggestions, etc., etc. Think about it.

Read "After the Ball" - maybe scripter will kindly post the link to its summary.

Here it is:

The Homosexual Propaganda and Media Manipulation Game...
Please read the summary and let me know if you have any questions or want to know the context of any part of the summary. I can scan in anything from the book if necessary.

The show is enjoyable pro-gay propaganda -- gay guys are lovable, helpful, and know about moisturizers and armoires. Perhaps, being unwelcome in the Boy Scouts has encouraged such a show that makes these folks seem like the Gay Scouts.
