This morning I decided to let BRAVO have an earful. Here is my email:

"As a DirecTV subscriber, I am notifying you I am permanently blocking BRAVO from my menu on my DSS receiver.

Your push for homosexual-'friendly' programming demonstrates your pandering to an audience that exhibits behavior that is not only detrimental to their own health, but the health and safety of families everywhere. I refuse to risk allowing my children to see promo material on your channel, so I find it necessary to block BRAVO and will encourage others to do so. Your advertisers will no longer reach me or my family members, and I have let DirecTV know of our all too easy decision to block BRAVO.

You may consider a homosexual audience on worthy of pursuit, but families who treasure their own lifestyles think otherwise."

I encourage others to let both BRAVO and their cable/DSS companies know that you're blocking their agenda-pushing programming!

I'm curious: do you think this is an issue our Big Tent can accomodate? If someone agrees with you on states' rights/community standards for moral/lifestyle issues, fourth amendment, school vouchers, political correctness, strong national defense and cutting taxes, is there room to disagree on the criminalization or lack thereof of homosexual behavior?

My sister-in-law was an interior designer in Houston for 20 years, and she said all of the men interior designers were gay.

You obviously don't know the definition of "bigotry":

bigotry: The state of mind of a bigot; obstinate and unreasoning attachment of one's own belief and opinions, with narrow-minded intolerance of beliefs opposed to them.

You can certainly be a bigot against practice and behavior; one of the classic expressions of bigotry is against religion, after all.

Conservatives hate bigotry when it's against jews, whites, blacks etc. I see no reason that it should not extend to gays as well. Bigotry is bigotry.

Exactly. Homosexuality has been around since the beginning of man (another wee clue that there is a biological basis for it), it has survived even the worst pogroms where discovery would result in death. It sure ain't going away now. We would do well to accept that fact, and stop letting religion dictate policy.

At the very least they could change their name from "BRAVO" to "HOMO" or "SODOMY".

If you're going to be on the air, at least be honest. It should be the "SODOMY" channel...all sodomites all the time. Or the "HOMO" channel. Truth in advertising. Truth in labeling.

I went past the channel last night and sure enough, looking at their nightly schedule on the ol' DirecTV, there it was - all homo shows, all night.

There was something on called "Boy Meets Poop Chute" or something like that.

Anyway, I sent my e-mail to DirecTV telling them what I think of their carrying the SODOMY network.

Just because it's been around since the dawn of time or because it's survived societal purges doesn't mean it's something that should be accepted or tolerated. The same arguments could be made for pederasty and pedophilia.
