[history]
The city is opening a full-fledged high school for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students - the first of its kind in the nation, The Post has learned.
Operating for two decades as a small alternative program with just two classrooms, the new Harvey Milk HS officially opens as a stand-alone public school with 100 students in September.

One of the funniest posts I've seen in a while was Friday (I think) in a thread on cross-dressers. The question was:
How do you sit four cross-dressers at a crowded bar?
Turn the bar stool upside down.

Even Giuliani wouldn't put up with this crap.
Tolerance and diversity only applies to heteros. The pillow munchers although diverse, sure as heck ain't tolerant of us. Why should we be of them? I guarantee this school doesn't last more than 5 years.
If I were a taxpayer in NYC I would protest until the cows came home, demanding that my hard earned dollars do not support this socially engineered horsedung.

Just was reading an article today about how Republicans are distancing themselves from Pat Robertson because of his statements about the Supreme Court sodomy ruling. Guess he's too fringe for them. What a world.

I believe we're headed for one of the biggest spiritual revolutions this country has ever seen.
Personally, I'd settle for a revival of old-fashioned common sense. What on God's green earth is a "gay" high school, anyway? And why should Joe taxpayer be forced to pay for this nonsense?

Do you think their best and brightest students will get to attend Bawney Fwank Univ. upon sucessful completion of their studies??

If NYers don't get up in arms over this blatant misuse of their tax dollars, there's no hope for them.

I'd hate to think of the devastating affect this will have on women and minorities.

5k per kid in a normal public school is about right (not where I am from), so yes 32K (wrong-see earlier post) is huge. But it looks good for gay bashing the facts.
I am against this school being funded by the public sector. But I don't gay bash to alter the facts. This latter statement is not intended for you directly, but a great deal of the comments are as such.

I wonder if they will be required to teach heterosexuality in health class.

The new put-down at NYC high schools from now on will be: "Hey dirtbag, has your transfer request to Harvey Milk been approved yet?"
To: pram
They want to be superior, and they don't want to tolerate us. You nailed it.
To: kattracks
They already have gay schools, they are called "The Art Institute."
