Dems plan to undermine America to beat Bush

Democrats plan to undermine public confidence in President George W. Bush by challenging his credibility and raising doubts about America, sources within the party tell Capitol Hill Blue.
A multi-pronged attack against Republicans and the President will focus not only on economic issues, but question American values, raise doubts about how this country is viewed by other nations and question the patriotism of Bush and his party.
The extensive campaign, developed by senior Democratic consultants and party leaders, was launched last week with attacks on the Bush economic plan by Democratic presidential hopeful Rep. Richard Gephardt.
In coming weeks, Democratic elected officials will question the Presidents intentions on the pending war with Iraq. Writers and broadcasters friendly to the Democratic cause have already been provided talking points suggesting the war is about oil, not terrorism. The talking points were developed before the end of last year and sent out to operatives and friendly media, one Democratic consultant confided. No Democratic member of Congress will question the Presidents patriotism openly but we will use the media and other surrogates to raise doubts.
Capitol Hill Blue obtained a copy of the talking points when the Democratic National Committee sent them to a news outlet recently acquired by CHBs parent company. The talking points outline a strategy to raise public doubts of the Presidents real intentions, including: --Saying the war is about oil and will be fought to benefit oil companies that have long supported Bush and the Republican party;
--Claiming the Bush administration has manufactured evidence against Saddam Hussein and used that evidence to encourage Britain and other allies to join the American fight against Iraq;
--Suggesting a wartime economy is the only way the administration can revive the countrys lagging economic situation.
It is clear that the current approval ratings of the administration are tied directly to strong American feelings toward traditional values, the talking points say. To counter this, doubt must be raised as to Americas true position within the world community and the true intent of the Bush administration in waging war.
Some Democrats admit privately they are uneasy with the party strategy to undermine American values in an attempt to get Bush.
My boss doesnt want anything to do with it, one senior Senate aide told Capitol Hill Blue on Monday. You dont undermine this country to win elections. Others, however, are willing to try anything to put the White House and Congress back under Democratic control. The real war isnt in Iraq, one Democratic consultant said. Its right here at home, at the ballot box in 2004.
Among the other points Democrats hope to make in the coming weeks:
--Both President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are controlled by oil and defense industry special interest groups.
--The war on terrorism is a failure because Osama bin Laden is still at large.
--America is unprepared for another terrorist attack because of White House preoccupation with Iraq. --War will increase the countrys economic woes. --Bush will be forced to raise taxes to finance the war.
Its time to take the battle to the people and make them understand just how dangerous George W. Bushs policies are to the future of America, the talking points conclude.
Democratic sources say the talking points were developed by Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe, former Clinton campaign strategist James Carville, Senate Majority Leader Daschle and former House Democratic Leader Gephardt.
This is a classic, Jim Carville, scorched earth campaign, crows one DNC staffer. Take no prisoners. Thats how you win elections. Democratic party spokesmen would not return phone calls seeking comment on this report.

Democrats have distorted the matter, stooping to their standard trick of misquoting: they lop off the attribution to the British government in Democrat attack ads. Democrats have succumbed to mass amnesia as well, forgetting they supported Clinton's attacks on Iraq in 1998. The contemporaneous statements of Kerry, Biden, Daschle et al cited Iraq's WMD threat.
GREAT JOB. Hammer the bast@rds at every turn.

Haven't been watching much Cable News lately, but Fox has sure changed from what I am seeing today or did I just pick a bad day to go watch cable news again? What gives? Fair and balanced is for the birds -- the RATs already have the rest of the cable news and networks locked up. I didn't see it, so I can't comment
But I did see this DNC Ad
If you notice, of ALL the media News Channels out there, the Rats choose to use FNC
FNC is being used by the Rats to push their agenda .. FNC needs to wise up about those people

Darn, I had my office tv on but turned down so I could concentrate on posting. I did see THE NECK, but didn't hear the female counter to Nadler. I have a feeling Fox News will pick it up tonight. I hope, I hope.
Tony Snow now talking about it being fodder for this weekend. Tony says the RATs better beware on this story because of some upcoming info.....more rope a dope?

What I just saw on Fox was sure pushing the RAT agenda. Lester Holt covered it from a British perspective, and CNN (woodruff) had on Donna Brazille and showed what all the RATs were saying! If there was anything pro-Bush said, I sure missed it on CNN but to be truthful I didn't hang around there!

FNC is being used by the Rats to push their agenda .. I think we also have to be watchful about FR. I have seen several posts here in the last couple of weeks that seem to me very likely to have been "planted" by people who are no friend to either Bush in particular or conservatives in general.
If the Rats can undermine conservative loyalty to Bush - and I'm not saying Bush is perfect, but he's sure a lot better than the Rat alternatives - then they've won the battle.
So watch out, everybody. Remember, they don't fight fair.

That was my thought: this looks like Hillary's work! (Although Carville is capable of thinking up a clunker like this, too.) I just hope it comes back to bite them on the rear end, and soon.

I'm not real certain if he really dealt with the specifics in this thread, or if it was just the stuff that came over every ABC newsbreak at the top and bottom of every hour, including an analysis by lil Georgie Step-on-all-of-us that the President and EVERYONE else is running from the "hot potato(e)(for Dan Quayle) of the Iraq/Niger buy of nuclear stuff in the SOTU speech.
I doubt it was the specifics and the CHB thing at all. I just couldn't work, check the market and freep, all at the same time. (grin)

reminds me of how Hitler started the "revolution". It hadn't begun yet, but he walked in and announced it had started, and people believed him.
CHB is so full of BS. Wash Dispatch is like it, IMO.
To: PhiKapMom
I saw her. FoxNews has really let the troops down. They've been pushing the DNC- NY Times line on Iraq for three months. Jim Pinkerton, of all people, was in Iraq a few weeks back for
Media Watch. He told the audience he had been all over Iraq and it wasn't anything like what the press was reporting. People were glad to see them. The troops were doing good work.
Mr. Pinkerton's comments were not repeated.
It's Vietnam press leftover syndrome. They think they're morally superior to our troops and this DoD. The press weaned on moral equivalency - who peddled Baghdad Bob and mocked SOD Rumsfeld is LECTURING THESE Generals and dissing THESE troops. I say, check the facts. Pick any month. The PRES., the Generals have been telling the truth. The PRESS has been selling out our country.
I'm motivated. I'm peeved.

You and me both. I have always liked Pinkerton! The only positive news I read out of Iraq is from Air Force News Service which really disgust me about the media.
I remember Rumsfeld's press conference when they kept asking him if it was a Vietnam quagmire. I thought he was going to clobber them -- wish he would have.
This is nothing like Vietnam and they are doing a disservice to the men and women and their families/friends who are serving by not telling the truth.
I am so mad at Fox right now I had to switch stations. Fair and Balanced has gone out the window recently! They have on McAullife but where is the Rep from RNC? Fox/Gibson cannot tell me that they couldn't get one!

Carville and Hillary are interchangeable IMHO. Remember how Bill sent Carville to Israel to screw up that election. They are all part of the same evil team.

Just got in (again)
Looks to me like we need to start an e-mail freep campaign. Is there a Thread where we can collect e-mail addresses of all media outlets, all congress critters etc.
Then list a link a pertinent articles to e-mail them.
(The list could change daily, weekly.)
